Duo / DuoLE Vu+ Duo - Always recording...

Hi Everyone,

I have a duo box setup, firstly with VIX, and now with Blackhole 2.09 (in an attempt to resolve this issue) installed.

Basically, the box always shows as recording (red REC light always on box display), but there is no recording happening at the time, this in turn ties up one of the tuners. It also causes the box to freeze, with VIX i had the spinning logo, which could only be fixed with a reboot, only for it to happen again shortly after.

I've had the setup for about 8 months and it's been working perfectly, but now this is happening constantly, any ideas? I haven't been able to find much on any forums so far.

I was thinking hardware, given the sudden change out of nowhere, but it seems strange that the box is always showing as recording.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Check your timers list and make sure it is clear of any old listings.

I have seen this happen before, with old timers set that the box missed (due to be switched off at the time or no signal etc etc) and because of that, it goes funny and randomly tries recording.

Yea, I've checked that before, nothing in there.

Plus this still happens on fresh flash of the box, so there's no way the box could have old timers...

Maybe one from your plugins can recorde evry time.
Whot about install new image you made all from begined step by step; you no used personal backup ?

I have had this excact problem.... Do you have it open from the web? If so, close it or change passwd and stream port.

REC icon turn on also when you see TV channels from remote location behind your LAN (wired or wireless) and/or from Internet ...
Disconnect your box from any kind of LAN and reboot the box: if the REC icon stay OFF, the problem is around your box exposure to the Internet and/or to other people who see TV from your Vu+.

Probably there is someone on the Internet who see TV channels with your box.
Verify carefully passwords, Openwebif auth config and router prots.

This is not a bug or an issue.
