Yes it's different but a dual thread CPU works like a dual core CPU. Like, not equal because there is a single core who can operate with 2 threads.

The only important thing is the speed of CPU and internally it operates like dual core.

    Hi One question for you.
The box interms of performance I know is awesome.
I need to know which turners I need to request if I order one of this boxes to achieve this the same funcionality I'm getting with my vu+duo + a dual external dvb-t turner. meaning being able to view/record two sat programs and view/record two dvb-t programs.
Will I have to keep using a external turner? (by the way I'm using the one for the play TV on PS3 it works like a charm)

    Thanks for your advice.

Yes you'll have to keep your USB dvb-t twin tuner as the plug and play dvb-t tuner modules are only single I think. And you need 1x dvb-s/s2 dual/twin tuner module.... You'll then have a free slot in your duo2 if ever you decide to add another tuner module. 20131031_214626.jpg

It'll look like this... Apparently some sat retailers are selling duo2s as twin tuners and using single tuners in each slot I.e each tuner will have an lnb in and loop out taking up both slots so depends on if you ever want to add another sattelite or increase your feeds and recording potential of the sat you have

I'm not sure on that my friend... I only use a dual tuner on fixed sat mate so I'm sure someone else will give you an answer

Impossible. Are you sure your box is genuine?

Excellent review with lots of clear instructions, just what newbies like me need.
Wasn't sure how best to use the opera browser in conjunction with the remote control, but now I'll have a proper go.

    Queries re the Media Player;
    1)
Although VU+Duo2 states to be a Media Player, I was expecting it to playback not just mkv's,
I'm wondering if it can playback my own movies, in formats such as avi, mp4 etc??
On my Vu+Duo2’s internal hard drive, I have lots of videos stored within /hdd/movie
But it only lists mkv's ??

    2)
Can the media player's filelist screen be tweaked to show a link to my own xtreamer-media player , which is mounted and pointed to smb://GP/Xtreamer/SDA1/Videos ???
