Vu+ SOLO Boot Loader Updgrade

The CFE image of Vu+ Solo is updated.

The main difference from the old one is supporting the large size image more than 48MB.

Please see the detailed explanation of update as below.
  1. Unzip the solo_cfe_2.0_usb.zip to USB stick. (There should be /vuplus/solo/cfe_cfe_auto.bin)
  2. Insert USB stick into the USB port of solo and power on the box.
  3. It takes just a few secs to update.
  4. If solo's front led blinks continuously, restart box.
  5. To proceed with image update, you should delete the cfe_cfe_auto.bin at /vuplus/solo in USB stick once bootloader update is finished.

first thing.when this file has to be trnsfered in the VU SOLO , before installing new version or after ?
than first i left the folder as indicated above. than what should i do , since i did not understood exactly when I have to remove the folder

CFE update BEFORE installing new image.
Once CFE flashed, remove USB key, erase all, put your image on usb key, flash image.

please I am new.so I am not technical.
so I plug-in the Vu Solo with the USB having the cfe.
than you told me erase all. what does that mean and what I have to do ?

I tried as told above.
I first flashed by the CFE and than with the Image 1.7.8 but it is not booting up

can someone correct my steps I am doing :

1) currently I have the 1.6.7 version and it works fine
2) i am downloading the CFE file and booting up the Vu Solo with it.As the indicator comes Green I am switching OFF the decoder
3) i am formatting the USB and download on the USB the 1.7.8
4) booting up the Vu Solo with the USB.As the indicator comes Green I am switching OFF the decoder
5) switch on the VU SOLO but remaining black screen

can someone explain me what I am doing wrong

How long did it take to flash img?

Did you try to download img again, maybe it was corrupted

Yes I downloaded different images like : 1.7.7 as well

as regards the time of the image , it took the normal time it takes as when I reload the 1.6.7

I hope you did not put the .zip file on your usb key ?
You must unzip the file on your PC and copy on the usb key the folder "vuplus"

Is it what you have done ?

no , my friend i am extracting the files .Thus first doing the CFE I having the below folders : vuplus - solo - cfe_cfe

than , for the image : vuplus - solo - root/kernel/root

sorry for the silly question that I am going to make. When extracting the CFE or the 1.7.8 , should I create manually the folder as : vuplus - solo ?

Because when extracting ,these folders are created automatically ,

You have to check to have this in your stick:
/vuplus/solo/cfe_cfe_auto.bin

After i use this bootloader, where is i put in new image to usb stick ? i wanna try change my image OpenPli to Black Hole image, regards
