Hello to community.

The Receivers box clearly declares CPU 333Mhz MIPS Processor.
But when i have telnet through windows command prompt

and connected as root setup new password and issued the following command
root@vusolo:~# cat /proc/cpuinfo

Code:
system type : BCM97xxx Settop Platform build target
build target : unknown
processor : 0
cpu model : Brcm4380 V4.12 FPU V0.0
cpu MHz : 220.67
BogoMIPS : 220.67 ( udelay_val : 110336 HZ = 1000 )
wait instruction : yes
microsecond timers : yes
tlb_entries : 32
extra interrupt vector : yes
hardware watchpoint : yes
ASEs implemented : mips16 dsp mt
VCED exceptions : not available
VCEI exceptions : not available
RAC setting : I/D-RAC disabled
unaligned access : 322878
rdhwr/brdhwr traps : 0 / 0
I have noticed the Processor is running at
220Mhz not 333MHZ as described in MANUAL !
Why is this happening?
Which processor the VU+ Solo have?
Is there a problem with my receiver ?
I have to install drivers ?
The command I have issued, is correct?
Am I fraud victim, with a VU+ Solo clone?

This is very disturbing. :suda:
Thank You.

I've already reported this issue at VuPlus and the response is a driver issue.
The box works at the declared frequency as reported by CFE boot output (serial console and cable needed).

Thank you for respones.
I have null modem cable and PC with COM port.

Please advise me.
Most refilling for me is that's not a problem only for me box!

Thank you.

Hello.
Why this issue wasn't fixed with new driver releases?
This driver issue is going to be for ever?
Is there a way so I can confirm 333mhz CPU speed?
What is CFE boot output how can I see/use it?
Regards.

I've reported personally this issue to Vu+ and the response received confirm my supposition: driver issue.
You can verify the hw dotation of your box with a PC, a serial cable and a terminal emulator (minicom or hyperterminal).

Here is answer from VU+ Team regarding CPU speed (from 20.10.2010.):

Dear Customer,
Regarding cpu speed 220M at /proc/cpuinfo, we got an answer from Broadcom saying that "Linux kernel 2.6.18's information of cpu can diverge if cpu has very long pipeline which is the case in 7325".
We have asked for more detailed information about cpu speed issue, and will send you the additional information as soon as we get it.
Thank you for the interest of Vu+.

Your Vu+ Team

With due respect for all VU+ team and vuplus community I'm not satisfied with this response and do not believe in this!!!
