hi the one who come with ultimo box vu +
Very strange!
I've moved my Vu+ Wifi dongle (300Mbit) from an external hub USB to second USB port of my Ultimo and all works correctly.

It's the only USB device connected to the back of your box?

hi guys,

i've the same problem with my Uno.. the wifi dongle works only on the front USB port
when I put on the back, it can detect the wifi network but cannot associate :(

i'm currently logged on the box via ethernet cable, and when try to associate manually with iwconfig, i get an "operation not permitted", the usb key use the driver r8712u.ko :(

i'll try to investigate..

i think there is something strange while handling the network part..
i've change dongle, from realtek to atheros (TP-LINK key, i've to put the htc_7010.fw in the firmware directory) and this dongle works on the back ports..

The reason why USB Wlan dongle not work almost certainly is the interference,
from other nearby devices .
If you can use a USB extension cable and find the best place
for USB dongle, problem will almost certainly disappear.

I tested and found a similar problem with USB Wlan donge connected
rear USB.
At the front all worked.
When the USB dongle was directly CONNECTED to rear USB,
i had problems and no Connection .
I could see AP but no connection.

When I extended the with the USB extension cable only +- 40 cm long
I could see a dozen APs
The signal was excellent.

Hi matrix10

In my case it seems that you theory isnt right. I think that there is a bug inside the firmware.
I've two wifi SSID with different name but same passphrase, when I change network there are only two method to connect network:

- put the wifi dongle on the front port (so there is necessary to reconfigure all parameters)
- change passphrase of wifi network

Now that I do not know because it is now a special case.
I have one router and one pass
And it works, as I wrote.

You know to use something the same in a network
is ask for the problems.
Probably a bug, but I would not use the same names and pass..
