As BH 2.0 is installed I have a problem with USB WiFi RT2870STA. Wifi usb is recognized but does not receive an IP address. I have DHCP enabled. I wrote about this yesterday and today in the Black Hole image section 2.0 for vu + solo2. Wgrywałem other versions of BH to my vu + solo2 and there is no problem with the wifi. However, in the Black Hole 2.0 worked on it yesterday and today, all day Sunday and I can not turn the wifi on my vu + solo2. Please help me.

Could you please post some details about your wifi dongle?
If you can post USB IDs, they are very precious.
Into BH 2.0 we have removed old buggy rt2800usb drivers avaiable on the kernel 3.x.x and maintained only the latest driver provided by Ralink for some wifi chipsets.... included RT2870 ... but I don't have any device who uses this chip :(

hello angelofsky1980. I have found a little problem with my usb wifi dongle too,it is the dlink DWA-140 version B2..with this last image BH 2.0.0 it detects like rt5572sta and i think with 1.7.9 was other, i think was the rt2870sta for that i write this post here in this threat... and it worked very well, the problem is that it works well but when i reboot the network doesn´t work, i have seen that in network config of wlan adapter the config of "use gateway" change to NO,i have to change to yes and configure the gateway,it works fine after that but when you reboot it happens other time. thanks a lot.regards.

Using Windows, plug your device, goto into Devices Manager
Right click with mouse on your wifi dongle and select Properties
Goto into Details tab, then select Hardware ID ... and paste here the strings you see (you can do copy&paste)

DWA.140 B2 has RT3070 chipset, supported by RT5572 driver included into BH 2.0. In previous images the drivers was different.
About your problem, I don't detect it with other wifi dongles, but I can test with DWA-140 and another box ....

Hello and thank you for the great job working on the new version of Blackhole. I did install the new image and I am experiencing the same issue with the wifi adapter (it is the official Vu+ Wireless dongle 300 Mbps). The details of the Hardware IDs are the following

USB\VID_148F&PID_5372&REV_0101
USB\VID_148F&PID_5372
on the Blackhole Network menu, I can see in Wireless Network Status Nickname ="RT2870STA"
Thank you for you help

Guys the hardware IDs are useful and correct.
I've seen into source driveers (into BH 2.0 is included the latest version of these drivers v2.6.1.3 taken from dongle manufacturer website) and your IDs are mentioned in the correct place ... I should buy a compatible dongle to make direct tests ...

If you can see a device into "Wireless LAN Setup" plugin you are into a good point.
Please configure carefully your Wireless network from router using only one chiper (WPA or WPA2) and AES keys instread of TKIP ... in my cases (with other wirleess chipsets and Vu+ boxes) this has make more stable the connection.

During Wifi setup on the box, select the corresponding chiper (WPA or WPA2) but NOT use the option "WPA/WPA2".

At the beginning I had WPA2 AES and didn't work.
I tried WPA but on my router i can make WPA with TKIP... cant make WPA AES. Didn't work.
I tried too WPA/WPA2 but nothing happened.
I tried without any Method - without chiper and it worked.
Of course I cant have my wifi without Password and chiper so I hope, You will help me with that.
I'm waiting for answer. Thanks.

Dear Angelofsky, dear friends,
same problem to connect as the mentioned above.
New Vu+ Wireless Adapter 300 recognized as RT2870STA with same hardware IDs.
Device is available in the Wireless LAN Setup but it fails to connect.
Tried with and without DHCP on a WPA2 AES encryption.
The device never shows in the router as an attached device.
Thank you for your help and for the fantastic BH images!

Have you tried it with the USB on front or rear ?
If on rear USB use an USB extension cord .
due to noise interferance , found a good location for dongle.
But now working perfect with USB extension cord .
I see 15 different my neighbors wireles networks

Im using Vu+ Wireless dongle with RTL8192cu and I had a similar problem.
