Wrong time on Ultimo 4K

Hi guys

I just bought a VU+ Ultimo 4K. I have two questions about setup.

1. Even I've setup correctly my time zone, my receiver shows 2 hours before. ( I live in Greece so correct time zone is GMT +2). I tried to set GMT +4 but my receiver keeps showing 2 hours before current time.

2. How can I sort TV channels ?

Thanks a lot

1) You are not saying us, the image you have installed on yours Ultimo4k.

2) By creating bouquets and using tools like:

  • Dreamset
  • DreamboxEdit
  • E-Channelizer

VU+ (as many other Linux-based STBs, as far as I know) have got no clock on the mainboard.
So, BH take the time from satellite transponders, usually from the 1st channel in the 1st bouquet, that means from the channel you get pressing 1.
OBH, instead, has also the chance to use a ntp server: so it takes the time from an Internet time server.

Either in flash or in multiboot, the same way you install BH and every other images. Anyway, I mentioned OBH just to clear the fact that, due to lack of a mainboard clock on the STB, there's a difference between the two images (actually, the difference is between all Vuplus-based images and all the open ones, OE-A).

As a VU+ newbie can you give me detailed instructions ?

As you are a newbie, I expect that you install our primordial image, as I told BlackHole, why:

1) Faster and more simple to configure it.

2) Based on Vuplus development code.

Later, you can try the option to Multiboot other images, by using OpenMultiboot ( a plugin embedded on image ).

Let´s do it more simple, for you, on the first contact to Enigma2 images.

Note: We are here to help, if you don´t know how to flash your STB.

That's it ! I know nothing about Linux and how to flash my STB.
Can you help me please?

I've downloaded BlackHole 3.0.9 image, extract to a fat32 USB flash, put it in front USB port, power on my STB, waiting to finish update, unplug USB drive but nothing changed

Thanks to Insanity who wrote this guide in Italian

Installation of the Image via USB Pen for VU + Ultimo 4K

-Download the last Image to your PC and save it
-Format the USB stick with the FAT or FAT32 file system
-Unzip the file on the USB stick (with WinRAR, WinZip, 7zip, or similar)
-The / vuplus / Ultimo4k folders are created in the USB stick
-There are 5 files in the / vuplus / Ultimo4k directory of the USB stick (rootfs.tar.bz2 - initrd_auto.bin - kernel_auto.bin - splash_auto.bin - reboot.update)
-Turn off the Vu+ (from the rear switch)
-Remove all USB devices from the decoder
-Open the front door
-Insert the USB stick previously prepared on the front USB
-Switch on the Vu+ (from the rear switch)
-Once the Ultimo 4K has started, the message "Update - Press Power" appears on the LCD display
-Swipe your finger over the "Power" button several times within 5 seconds (button TOUCH)
-The image flash starts

That's all.

Thanks Newgolfer

That's exactly what I need.
I'll try this later .

I have two more questions
Can I sort TV channels in my order ?
Does Ultimo 4K support On Air firmware upgrade/update ?

Thanks again

So. everything is OK

My fault was that deleted /vuplus / Ultimo4k folders and wrote the 5 files (rootfs.tar.bz2 - initrd_auto.bin - kernel_auto.bin - splash_auto.bin - reboot.update) to root.

Thanks again for your replies

In fact Ultimo 4k with BH becomes a new device.

So what's the best 4TB hard disk for it ? WD Red ? WD Blue ? or WD Purple ?
