Vu+ Uno 4k Se problems

Hello guys,

I own some vu+ receivers and one of them (vu+ uno 4k se) lately is giving me some problems.

I had on my box blackhole image (i think it was 3.0.8) and it started to turn on the box by itself randomly, and also when i am watching tv it opens the restart/turn off blackhole menu and i can't get out of it with the remote control, the only way to leave that menu is by openwebinfo (there i control the box without any problem).

i already tried other remote control, but same result, so i guess the problem its in the box.


as i was with those problems, i've installed blackhole 3.0.9C thinking that it would solve it, but it happens the same things.

ive decided to install the latest official vu+ image just to test...but it continues to wake up the box randomly and also goes to restart/turn off menu and keeps stuck there

is there a way to really make a reset the box?

anyone had similar problem and solved it? thanks in advance to all

With your Vu+Uno4Kse you also get a IR Eye extended cable if you the cable remove it and see it that helps

Very strange then but maybe try and insert the cable and see if something strange goes on with your IR Eye

And also check the HDMI-CEC settings if they are enable then disable them

hello again

i have tired with the IR Eye cable but nothing changed. about the hdmi-cec its disabled.

no matter the image i have installed it makes the same thing:(

basically i can't watch tv on that box, as it opens that menu almost all the time.

the funny thing is that by openwebinfo i control the box without any problem.

Sounds very strange but you can controll the box from webif have you try and remove all remotes from the same room from the box
and see if the problem is still there?

I guess its some kind of hardware error so you just have to return the box where you did buy it and have it repaired.

Have you tried to change your RCU batteries?

As also, near your STB, have you a phone!

Halogen lamps could give also issues.

i will try without any remote in the room, and we will see
about the batteries, i'm sure its not the problem, as i already tried with other remote and same thing happens

in my home i have all led lamps:)

I have an identical problem. The commands sent from my remote control are not interpreted correctly in the box. Either the remote is sending the wrong data or the box is interpreting it wrong. I use the latest openPLI 7.2 on my box. Controlling the box by the openwebif interface works like expected.

So, maybe it's time to try OpenBlackHole, instead of OpenPLI! ;) They are both derived of OE-A project.
Or, also, BlackHole, which is, instead, based on the original VU+ code but declined in a nicer way. ;)

Using the camera of your mobile phone you can see if the remote is sending a signal. You will see if the led turns on or not. It may be that the remote has a broken resonator from a fall.

In my house, when I turned on the LED bulb, I changed two chains upwards. Don't ask me why and only if they had been off for a long time

Boa tarde,

Alguém já descobriu como resolver o problema? Estou dando em doido, já testei tudo e mais alguma coisa, varias imagens vários backups antigos, até já tentei enviar apenas o kernel da imagem instalada. Sem sucesso.
Notei que a partir do momento que este problema apareceu, quando instalo nova imagem, deixou de pedir para carregar no botão power, inicia o flash automaticamente e nunca para, faz o procedimento sucessivamente. só consigo iniciar a vu+ retirando a pen quando começa a fazer reboot no fim de flashar a imagem.
Agradecia feedback. Já não sei o que fazer.

I noticed that you have posted on Portuguese language! Fortunately, i am portuguese and i am trying to understand your issue, as it is, a liitle bit confusion, i have edited it!

Hi, thanks for the reply, my English is not very good, but I will try to explain it better.
My vu+ uno 4k SE having the same problem with which this topic was created.
I've tried to install all possible images, the problem remains in all, I've also tried other pens and formatted in different ways.
I don't know what to do anymore, I think it's a strange thing, my vu+ when I put the pen with the image doesn't ask to press the power button, flash the image directly and always continues with this procedure when it restarts.
I would appreciate any help, I am seriously thinking about buying another vu+ receiver, I have never had a problem in 2 years.
