All we can say is that VU are aware that many people have made this mistake, they may or may not be able to assist but I can assure that if they can we will inform you here.

oh... that's too bad ...

If it hasn't been done already...maybe this deserves a sticky watch-out message on all BH images forums .... You know, sometimes when you have a new toy you get distracted and getting a brick is a moment ...

Found this posted on another forum for those that can't fix their 'red led only problem'
just replace C807 220uF 16v with a new one or with 330uF 16v on the motherboard
Haven't tried this myself yet but will tomorrow.

Thanks for the info and I hope you can solve the problem :)

Having replaced C807 today I can confirm that this did indeed fix my problem.
After replacing the capacitor, the box booted at least but was however stuck on 'Starting'.
Flashing an image via usb brought everything back to normal.

Could you please post some detailed photos about this fix?
Can be useful for other people who had this issue :)

Sorry guys, just put the box together and wired it all back up in it's spot. (missus fumbduck is in charge of it now and low and behold he who tries to pry the remote from her hand lol)
But cap C807 is quite easy to find, it's located near the front corner of the motherboard close to the Hard Drive (if fitted)
Alternatively if someone can post a pic of the motherboard I will try and circle the cap.
