Cannot see FTV channels with Signal at 80%

Hello everyone,

I'm new on these forums. I'm trying to configure a VU+UNO4KSE and I'm struggling to get it working...

I'm using BH 3.0.9. I've configured the tuner as follows:
Mode: Single
Satellite: Astra 19.2E
Send SiSEqC: No

I know that the dish and LNB work properly, as when I connect the old STB it works properly.

With my new STB I'm not able to find any channel on this satellite... Even if I manually load a channel list, and try to see a FTV channel, I'm getting a 80% signal strength, but no image at all.

Anyone can think on what I'm missing? I'm starting to think that the tuner is defective...

I'm running Open Black Hole, which is slightly different. Can you please post screen shots of the signal quality readings, when you go into either signal finder, or other option.
Can you also please explain your satellite setup, is it just a fixed dish, single LNB, pointing at Astra 1, 19.2E, or are you using a shared system, as used in a building complex, or other set up?

Very basic question: have you connected the coax cable to right tuner?

Vu+Uno4K SE should have two FBC tuner (both IN marked).

Watching box from back, LNB IN on the left is Tuner A and the other is Tuner B.

I've had similar problems with another Vu+ box and I've connected the coax cable to tuner B and I've configured Tuner A in the image.

Check carefully what tuner you have configured and where is connected the cable.

@Mick12334 my current setup is a fixed dish, twin LNB (one signal for me, the other for my neighbour) pointing to Astra 19.2E. I know that signal works properly because when I connect a PPV STB that I have I'm getting properly the paid channels from this satellite. This is satfinder for a specific transponder. I'm getting a nice SNR, but as you can see on the first image, I'm getting no picture/audio at all on a channel on that transponder.



@angelofsky1980 I've tested connecting the coax cable to both tuners, and even configuring both tuners, but still the same... I think that I'm having everything properly connected anyway, because I get signal... but I'm new to this world, so maybe there's a small config that I'm missing...

Anyone can think on what is happening? Broken STB?

You are getting a signal, you just need to try scanning in the channels.
Have you tried manually scanning in Sport1, the German FTA version?
12480 V 27500 DVB-S or try a blind scan, using the FTA option.

FTA stands for Free To Air, which is clear, FTV stands for Free To View, which on UK satellite, Astra 2, 28.2E, means you still require a card, either a FTV card or an expired sky card, which still works, on the few channels that are now left FTV.

I just tried it, I'm having the same behaviour than my spanish FTA (or FTV I don't know hehe) channel.

I use SATfinder on that transponder. Good signal.


But if I manually search on it with this settings, no channels found:


And I try to enter the channel already stored using a channellist, I get 90% signal, but no image...


Any other idea?

Please:
1) provide us with your tuner configuration, both the overall configuration screen and the detail of the tuner (I assume you configured only one Tuner, A or B, as you said).
2) Don't use phone pictures but grab your screen by a browser using you BOX's IP by this command
xxx.yyy.zzz.www/grab

and saving the picture by right-clicking.

Do a complete scan and never choose the System, surely not DVB-S. Choose AUTO, instead.

Try configuring Tuner B to Astra 1, 19.2E, then try scanning.

Maybe you have a problem in your satellites.xml file, because the Tuner configuration is correct.
Try first the attached file only with Astra (very light file) and after the complete file with all satellites.

Unzip the first and copy the file satellites.xml into
/etc/tuxbox

by a FTP client (Filezilla or similar).
The restart the GUI, otherwise the new file won't be used.
If the first one doesn't work, unzip the second and do the same. Let us know.

@Mick12334 swapped the configuration between Tuner A and B. tried with coax cable in both connections. In all situations, 0 channels found.
@Alexwilmac compared the satellites files that you provided with the one from my stb, they're exactly the same.
@p.rodrigues I'm actually not selecting any system, I'm scanning the whole satellite.

Thanks for your support guys, I'm contacting with the shop because I really think that the STB is not working properly.

It might still be a software, set up, issue, as you're getting a signal.
Can you please try setting both Tuner A, and Tuner B, to Astra 1, 19.2E, then try a scan.

Normally, with these problems, I'd think that your dish is pointed at the wrong satellite, but as you've got a fixed dish, with only one LNB, and another receiver picks up the correct channels, then it has to be something else.

It's strange that your scanning in the channels, getting a good signal quality, but not a picture. As you're actually seeing the Blackhole logo, and the menu options, then the cables are working. What are your picture settings? Do you have a 4K television? Could the display settings be incorrectly set up so that the image isn't upscaling correctly, so not showing an image, from an inferior resolution, including SD, and HD?

I'd be very, very surprised if it is a HW problem. Before getting crazy with your reseller (risking they will make you pay for a not existing issue) you should maybe reflash from scratch your image and try.
And how can you tell me that: "I compared the satellites files that you provided with the one from my stb, they're exactly the same"???

The same to whom? To yours? How is possible if they are different between them? So, maybe the "complete" one might be the same of yours, but the other one, only with Astra 19,2E, wouldn't.

Sorry for refloating this old post.

On that day, I've contacted the reseller, he asked me to use openspa image... and surprisingly it started working! Until yesterday...

Nothing changed, LNB works properly (my neighbour SATbox is working), I receive signal byt image is just not showing.

Attached the Enimga2-debug.log, maybe someone can give a hint about what might be happening?

True that it is not a blackhole image, but the problem that I'm having right now is exactly the same than the one that I had with a BH image, this is why I'm asking

This is bh and obh board. Ask in openspa. The problem is not the Bh image and you seller was wrong to suggest another image. The problem is in your box or config.
