The day that "it" sounds an SSD, we have a problem.:offtopic:
I say this to other users who plan to put "normal" hard drives.
I always like to read.

I basically agree, but... there are two different situations.
One concerns the problem with some caddies for 2,5" HDDs which are not compatible to 12mm height hard disks.
The second might concern the HDDs bigger than 3 or 4 Tb (typically the 3,5"), particularly the internal ones (but also the external, to be sure).
So, in case, it might be better to open a thread about "What is the largest HDD size you have successfully used with VU+?"

I do think that some externals might cause a few problems as well, because there are some out there who spins down and go to standby mode, when they are not being used for a couple of minutes and that causes problems with a ton of PVR's out there, because they are incapable of waking up an external drive from its standby mode.
Are the Vu+ capable of waking these externals up from their spinned down standby mode when wanting to record something?

The Iomega i mentioned does not spin down and go to standby mode, hence its safe for PVR use with a Vu+

As indicated by Alexwilmac, in the cady the 2'5 "disc must be <10mm high or does not fit.
6TB ---> 177€uros.
8TB something more expensive.
