BH 3.0.8 onwards includes ServiceApp and Exteplayer3 which gives improved media playback / streaming performance.

It is pre-installed in all boxes, except Gen1 Solo, Duo, Uno, Ultimo and Zero, so you will have to enable it from the BH SpeedUp menu on those boxes.

To use it with IPTV, you can either leave the ServiceApp settings as default and in your IPTV lists, just change the #SERVICE 1:0:1: or #SERVICE 4097:01: to #SERVICE 5002:0:1:

Doing this, Exteplayer3 will only be used on your IPTV streams.

Or you can change the default setting of Enigma2 playback system in the ServiceApp menu from Original to Exteplayer3.

Note: that you can not record IPTV streams if you are using Exteplayer3 (however Enigma2 isn't reliable when recording IPTV anyway).

Changing the setting in the ServiceApp menu, means that the image will no longer use the built in Mediaplayer (linked to Gstreamer) and will use ExtePlayer3 for all media playback for IPTV and streaming aswell as any movies / recordings on your hdd, doing this you won't need to convert your IPTV lists to #SERVICE 5002:0:1:

But please note, that ServiceApp isn't perfect, it does not know the difference between Mpeg1 and Mpeg2 files, therefore it will report any Mpeg2 as Mpeg1 and the Zerok4K and Duo4K do not support Mpeg1, so even though these files are really Mpeg2 because ServiceApp reports them as Mpeg1 you will only get Audio on these files.

All other Vu+ boxes support Mpeg1 so it's not too much of an issue.

Also note that Subtitles will not work and trying to use Subtitles with Exteplayer3 may cause Enigma2 to crash, this is a known issue, and it is not something we can fix.

No, it's never possible to CHANGE version neither this way nor by online update.
Flashing means erasing the flash memory and install a completely different operative system (image). It's like formatting a PC and reinstalling its OS.
You'd better save your bouquets by a software specific for your computer or by the OpenWebInterface. OWIF is available just typing the IP of your box in a browser of your LAN.
The rest it's better if you reinstall it.

Sorry, that's what I wanted to ask... the term OpenMultiboot is what gave me the doubt...
Thanks.

OpenMultiboot is a plugin that makes possible to use a device (a flash USB stick or the HDD itself) to install as many images as you like.
This way, one image is installed in flash and the other ones are in the device. When you want to launch another one, you don't need to reflash your box: the image in the box (as well as all the other ones) remain there, untouched.

Thanks. So I do what I used to do when there was full firmware change, use a pendrive and make a fresh install, right?

Right: I already wrote that. Only, I always say "by a software" because, fortunately, there isn't only the buggy windows as O.S. in the computer world ;)
Or there is also OWIF, as written in post #6

Hello, and happy new year everyone.
Yesterday I installed this new version on my vu+ zero, but when I watch IPTV the buttons (play, pause, stop etc) doesn't work.
Every time I press them on screen show timeshift alert that can't be activated in this moment.
Instead When I play movie from HDD they work correctly.
Thanks

Apart from the Netiquette aspect, dedicating just 5 minute on searching the Internet about an issue, would save you from posting the thousandth message about the same topic. ;)
This issue depends on VU+ to be solved, not on BH coders.

Hello, Thanks for you answer, but I looked on the forum without result.
Please can you forward me on right post to resolve this issue.
Also because I had installed BH 3.0.5 before and all buttons work fine with IPTV without apply any solution
Thanks again

There's NO solution and there have been, as I said, many many messages by users that don't read other messages. You must search by yourself. But this is just to read that 308 has got this issue and they are waiting for vuplus to solve it.
