Hi all,

I attempted to post this previously but got banned, obviously due to my lack of understanding of the difference between a CAM and an emulator. Anyone who read the thread properly would have realised that I was asking a perfectly innocent question about using a legitimate, paid up, smart card with a VU+ zero box in the same way as I did with my old Optimax box. Nothing illegal here, just trying to get the smart card read by what I assumed was a CONAX compliant receiver.

So, I'll post again and attempt to remove any reference to anything that may be naughty.

Mods: please understand that new users may not understand these distinctions and that some discretion should be applied and the intent of the message should be looked at rather than just picking out a key word.

----

I recently purchased a VU+ zero to replace my current (Opticum HD X110p) satellite receiver as I was fed up with the poor user interfaces of standard satellite receivers.

The VU+ zero certainly addresses my concerns with respect to the user interface, although the issue I face is that I can't get it to work with my Polish "telewizja na karte" smart card which uses the CONAX system.

Before purchasing the VU+ zero I read that it supports the CONAX system:

Code:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vu+

"All units support Conaxconditional access (CA) system, with software-emulated conditional-access modules (CAMs) available for many alternate CA systems"

However, when I insert my "telewizja na karte" smart card into the VU+, I still can't access any encoded Polish stations. Moreover, the Opticum unit allowed me to view my subscription status, etc. This doesn't seem to be possible with the VU+.

Can anyone suggest how I may be able to get my VU+ zero to recognise my CONAX compliant card (LEGAL, VALID smart card and subscription)?

Thanks in advance,
Dominic.

AGAIN?

First of all, Vu+ page into Wikipedia system is not officially maintained by Vu+.

Second, if you looked any tech data reported by resellers, you discovered that Vu+ Zero internal slot has been licensed (LEGALLY) for XCrypt CAS.
Code:
https://www.hm-sat-shop.de/hdtv-receiver-sat/vu-/2383/vu-zero-we-1x-dvb-s2-linux-receiver-full-hd-1080p-white?c=51

Again, you won a new week ban because after the previous ban period you haven't made any change of your initial post ....
