Help needed for DiSEqC 1.2 setup

Hi guys,

I have a new Vu+ Uno with a motorised dish. I am trying to add 4-5 satellites (Astra, Hotbird, Eutelsat, Turksat, Arabsat) to the box, but when I try to setup the box to search the channels, it seems like it doesn't move or doesn't want to find channels from a different satellite.

For example, it would scan Hotbird, pick up many channels, then it tries to scan a different satellite, such as Turksat and it makes very slow progress through the transponders and doesn't pick up any channels (after hours of scanning).

Does anyone have a guide to setup up multiple satellites with a motorised dish?

I was previously using Technomate 1000 (still working fine).

Many thanks for any help.

If your rotor support USALS, use this: configure your tuner as "Simple-Positioner" and input your geographical position (latitude/longitude) and you have done!
About DisecQ 1.2 rotors I have no experience on it :(

Advanced setting then for motor on DisecQ 1.2 if you don't use usals disable it then you see new line in witch for each satelite you will give a diffrent number position like 1 for 19° then 2 13°.....after go to positioner then try to lock your sat and save with the number you give for each satelite

1-be sure of the frequency of search

2 it will be easer if you install a motor setting and after you can delete all sat and bouquets that you don't need

Thank you for the help.

I am not sure what you mean by points 1 and 2.

I made sure USALS was disabled and assigned a number to each satellite I want to use. The problem I face is Hotbird and Astra are searched fine. I think because it begins searching at a frequency of around 10700 so it has no problem finding channels.

But when it tries to search Turksat or any other satellite, the frequency begins at a high frequency around 12400+.

The dish is definitely moves to the satellite, but I think the search begins at such a high frequency that no channels are there to be found. No progress is made and it doesn't move up/down through the frequencies to find channels.

How can I set which frequency the search should begin? I think this is the problem I am facing.

Why don't just send ready settings to the box

If your Technomate still working fine just plug it in back to the mains, then go to configuration and check what positions are saved for your motor for satellites - e.g. astra 19.2 position number 1 (MOUNA already mentioned this), hotbird 13 - number 2, etc. Write down everything on the paper, then switch receivers over to uno and set your tuner the same way as your TM is. That will save your time with saving new data to positioner.
Next step will be update satellites.xml - that's probably the reason why frequencies begin with 12400+
