how to find Vu Solo MAC Adress

hi there
i recently bought a vu solo and have following questions
first i want to attach it to my router that it is configured to grant access to devices that are listed how can i found the mac address for the receiver?
second what options i have to connect my pc to solo can i use USB cable for installing BH image in solo flash or i should use null modem cable ?
if i want to multiboot solo i should install BH on solo flash and the other images on USB drive ?

hello
usually the mac rules are only for the wireless connection, are you sure that are you using that filter for the wired devices?
maybe there is a sticker on the vu with it, or you can: disable the router mac filter, connect the duo to the lan, then open a telnet session to it then type a simple 'ifconfig' command

for flash an image you can use a serial connection to a pc or the simplyest one: a cheap usb flash memory
the multiboot is useless (imho) the vu has a very good backup tool and so you can test correctly any image without using multiboot then restore the previous

1. Also You can see Your MAC when You connect Your solo on routher via DHCP and after go to routher interface ( LAN/DHCP table) and in that section You could see MAC address of solo.

2. Yes, BH in flash and on usb other via meoboot.

1-you mean even when access is not possible the MAC address can be seen in the router software ?
2-is it possible to load nfi BH in solo flash by using USB drive and the rear USB port or i should use a kind of cable and software to do that if so would u please specify what cable and software should i use ? and i appreciate if i can have a link to the software too

Or you can start script which is in BH script panel ang get a same result.

1-i have a wireless network in my home laptops and mobiles have wireless access to the modem router but pc and other devices are wired inorder to control traffic usage i used WAP encryption and access list i wanted to have the mac address in an easier way if any . and about the cable what kind of cable should be used along with what software ?
2-why u said it is useless alot of effort have been put in it. it offers some new possibilities and can't be useless.

1. Connect Your box via cable and if You have enabled DHCP in Your routher,You will can access and see MAC in DHCP table. Also can do what @zupy said via telnet.
2. Download BH 1.6.2 USB and install that in flash via USB. After that install meoboot on rear USB and upload images which You want to folder /MbootUpload and install via remote control (/plugins/meoboot)

you were right tobler access list is for wireless devices only
Mac Address can be find via telnet ifconfig command and i got it
and thank you dzoni i installed BH in solo flash .

What is the genuine Vu+ mac address, even I think clones will use correct company (first) part...

MAC address check it's not the best thing to check clones because in the box production phase, the manufacturer write something he want

For example I've a Vu+Uno with a fake MAC-address because it's a pre-production box ... other Vu+ boxes in my home have correct MAC-address identifier.
