how to use picons on vu+ solo2

Hello
I am rather new to this.
I downloaded picons from the addons servers. they are on the usb along with the epg
how can I make them show when I show the epg.

also is there a way to by default show the graphical epg when pressing the button epg? I know that if you long press you have several options...
and even when choosing graphical epg it does not show picons do i need to hard reboot? or install an additional software like cool tv guide or something?
