Hi Guys,

hope you don`t mind me asking this question in this thread but i have a prob and its about mounting usb and hdd. I have a Vu+Duo with Hitachi 1TB internal HDD i have recently changed my image from BH 2.0.1 to BH 2.0.6 with out making a back up so my HDD is not mounted. I also have 4GB sandisk USB in rear of stb for my picons which are on there but dont think either are mounted properly.

First Problem i have though is when i press blue button twice and go to device manager sometimes HDD and usb show and sometimes like now they dont why could this be and what can i do to resolve it ?
Please advise ??

With this tool/win prog you can do what you want with partitions and formats (Linux and windows)
HDD and USB sticks
Of course, provided that you do not have defective USB stick and HDD
http://www.partition-tool.com/personal.htm

to add
If you make linux partition with Linux box/VU+.
Windows does not recognize them.
And therefore it is necessary to use this tool
to restore USB/hdd with more than one partition
If You want to re-use on windows machines.
any tool like this work for mac? i don't have windows.

How to Mount USB in the Black Hole Devices Manger

As follows :-

1} Press Blue button twice @STB Remote Control and select the Devices Manger, you will see this screen {1}
View attachment 9656
2} After selecting Devices Manager you see this [you can see the 2 partitions made on usb stick are not mapped]. Press the Red button {2}
View attachment 9657
3} Now the screen will change to this {3}
View attachment 9658
4} Now you can select which devices you want to mount, just highlight the device with the up/down buttons and press the left/right buttons to choose how you want it mounted (universes, video, usb, hdd etc) then just press the Red button to save this mount {4}
View attachment 9659
5} Now the box will ask you to reboot so it can create this mount. Once the box has rebooted, if you check in the Device Manger you see something similar to this {5}

Attachments? I dont know what they mean. I have mounted my NAS but i wonder if it is possible to mount/find the ext hdd plugged into my NAS?
On my WDTV Live i have both my NAS and my 3 ext hdd.
I have given my Synology NAS a static IP so i Can Mount it on my VU DUO 2 every time it starts up. But maybe the DJMount can't work with several different mountpoints on the same IP adress?

The USB stick you are using is not fully 100% compatible with Linux.
Change it.

"5. Now the box will ask you to reboot so it can create this mount..."
Do I leave the usb stick in or take it out before the reboot please?
