Hi everyone
I’ve just bought a new duo 4K and have a problem to configure the tuners to be able to record few programs and watch one. I have unicable and one standard cable coming from lnb (inverto I thing). Can someone help me with this. Thanks in advance Greg

To configure a Unicable (SCR) LNB you must know, first of all, the frequencies of your LNB's "channels", because a SCR uses at least 4 and up to (usually) 32 independent channels to work, and each one may be assigned to one of the FBC virtual tuners of your STB (if you've got at least one of these FBC tuners, of course, like in your Ultimo4K. Notice that Ultimo 4K is also equipped with two tuners, one FBC and one normal...).

So, let's say you've got a 4 channels SCR LNB, usually its frequencies are
1210
1420
1680
2040

but it's much better to know the SCR model or, at least, its frequencies (because you can set your tuner for a "User defined" LNB and set whatever frequencies you like.

That said, imagine you sat is 13E and your tuners are named, for instance:

A
C
D
E
F
...

where A is the "real" tuner and C, D, E (or more) are the FBC virtual ones. You'll need to set them as follows.

Tuner A
=======
Configuration: advanced
Satellite: 13E (or whatever you've got)
LNB: LNB 1
Type of LNB/device: SCR (Unicable/JESS)
Manufacturer: (yours, for instance Inverto or Humax which is a standard)
Model: (yours)
Channel: User band 1 (usually 1210)
Connected: NO (this is important)

then, in case, DiSeqC mode, but let's assume you can't connect a SCR to a DiSeqC switch for now...) and the other parameters, too, should not be needed.

Tuner C
=======
Configuration: FBC SCR (....)
Satellite: as in Tuner A
LNB: as in Tuner A
Type of LNB/device: as in Tuner A
Manufacturer: as in Tuner A
Model: as in Tuner A
Channel: User band 2 (usually 1420)
Connected: YES (this is important)
Connected to: Tuner A (or any else already configured as SCR)

Tuner D
=======
(Everything the same as of Tuner C)
Channel: User band 3 (usually 1690)
Connected: YES
Connected: YES (to Tuner A or anyone else already configured as SCR)
Connected to: Tuner A (or any else already configured as SCR)

Tuner E
=======
(Everything the same as of Tuner C)
Channel: User band 4 (usually 2040)
Connected: YES
....

and so on: if you've got a SCR LNB with more than 4 channels, you'll use
User band 5
User band 6
User band 7
.......

but always
Connected: YES (to Tuner A or anyone else already configured as SCR)
Connected to: Tuner A (or any else already configured as SCR).

This is the basic system. If your SCR channels work at different frequencies you'll have them shown in your setup.

@Alexwilmac you are the best.
Thanks for the quick response. I was quite close with this settings (I think) but without your help I would never ever get this right.
Hopefully this help other vuplus-community members

Hi,

I need some help.

I have Vu+ 4k se + Unicable like this one https://www.gt-sat.com/products/GT-SAT/LNB/dCSS-Line/dLNB-Programmable-Line/GT-S1dCSS24

I setup 7 tuners same as u wrote here,

Everything is fine, until i start record some channel and start watching second on different TP. 11844 Hotbird 13e and doesn't work no signal at all,
but when i stop recording this channel start working again , any help?

Yes: surely it might only be one of these two reasons:
1) you set wrong UBs.
2) You used the legacy output instead of the dCSS one.
Post your tuners' setup and your LNB's UBs.

I hope when you say: "I followed what you wrote here" you didn't simply copy my UBs examples! I specified "usually" the frequencies are... just because each LNB has its own UB frequencies.
And, above all, I made an example with a 4 channel SCR; you've got a 24 one, and its frequencies are completely different.

UB are okay i guess,
UB1 = 1210 MHz
UB2 = 1420 MHz
UB3 = 1680 MHz
UB4 = 2040 MHz
UB5 = 978 MHz
UB6 = 1028 MHz
UB7 = 1072 MHz

a.jpg b.jpg c.jpg d.jpg e.jpg f.jpg g.jpg h.jpg

I didn't mention that, when i record some channel others channels works perfect, but from TP.15, 11488 not so good i get pixles and freezing idk why.

Ps. Why GT-S1dCSS24 have only 4 scr ? So i can't setup this bc i want 7 tuners to run.

I think you guess... wrong.
If you linked the right LNB model, its UB specification (downloaded from the page you yourself linked) are:
975, 1025, 1075, 1125, 1225, 1275, 1325, 1375, 1425, 1475, 1525, 1575, 1675, 1775, 1825, 1875, 1925, 1975, 2025, 2075, 2125 MHz.

If so, your setup is wrong. Is it the LNB you've got? Why didn't you download its specifications?
So, look for it, instead of this Jenssen or look for another LNB with the same UB channels.
If there isn't one, you can always use a customised setup, using your wished UB frequencies.

Your post are not clear at all. Do you have a sheet for your LNB or did they write the UBs in its box? I only followed your link! And I downloaded (what you should have done) its manual with specification. An it reports the UBs I wrote before.
So: is it your LNB or not? You can download yourself its specification or read them in the technical sheet included in your LNB's box.
If you don't discover the UBs you can't set your image properly.

If this happens clearly the UBs are not right! Pixelations and corrupted pictures come exactly by wrong settings. And you did not answer my question: what exactly is your LNB model and type?

AlexWilMac

Moderator
Perfect: the one you wrote about in your first message. So, if you haven't downloaded its manual yet, I post its specifications: tell me where do you read the frequencies you posted (1210, 1420 and so on)!!!
It does not use those frequencies.
Why do you use that Jenssen setup? It's simply not right and you keep saying your setup is right...

And I want to add: there is EXACTLY your type and model within the LNBs of OBH: why on earth you don't choose it?

The screengrab is from OpenPLI: this is the forum for BH and OpenBlackHole images... Maybe you can give OBH (which is similar but most supported and smart) a try... ;)
