"VU+ Plus YAY GO PRO IP Receiver (4K UHD, Android 10, Dual WiFi, Chromecast, IP Player, HIGH-END)"
YAY has released a new IP receiver - again one with the Android 10 operating system. The YAY GO PRO promises ultra-sharp 4K quality in a relatively small but stylish box. Expect great picture quality with high contrast and rich colors!

    Features
    - Supports ultra-sharp 4K resolution
    - Dolby Atmos over Dolby Digital Plus for incredible surround sound
    - Android 10: Install your favorite apps from the Google Play store

You have the option of connecting the YAY GO PRO IP receiver to a Bluetooth keyboard for more comfortable use. You can also connect an external hard drive via USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 and play your favorite media over and over again. There is also a slot for a micro SD. Of course, the YAY GO PRO also has an HDMI, Ethernet, and 12 V DC IN connection. In addition, there must not be a lack of a connection for USB-C, AV, and optical audio - these have also been integrated into the device.

An Amlogic S905X3 chipset and an ARM Cortex-A55 quad-core processor have been installed. With the enormous performance of up to 21,800 DMIPS and a 2 GB DDR3 SDRAM, the IP receiver receives sufficient power for everyday use. In addition to the SDRAM, there is also an eMMC high-speed flash memory of 8 GB.

With the YAY GO PRO, you can also add apps to the home screen and sort them as you like. You can easily get your favorite apps on your television via the Google Play Store. In a matter of seconds, you can switch from your smartphone, tablet, or notebook to your TV, because the integrated Chromecast can easily stream supported apps to your TV!

The remote control is equipped with illuminated buttons so that you can always find the right buttons even in the dark. The Google Assistant rounds off the whole thing: You can operate it as usual via voice control and search for over 500,000 films and TV shows - Google will suggest the most relevant result.

Dolby Digital Plus (with Dolby Atmos) for the best possible surround sound
YAY GO PRO also has Dolby Digital Plus to give you the highest surround sound quality. This technology ensures that your television experience not only remains with normal stereo sounds but that the sound effects you more actively from all sides. The aim is to make the sound as if you were right there in the relevant scene!

Difference between YAY GO PRO and YAY GO
There isn't a big difference between the two variants, but the YAY GO PRO IP receiver has an additional Bluetooth remote control and a USB stick including an app for watching TV over the Internet. The PRO remote control also has a numeric control panel - something the normal remote control doesn't have. In addition to the numeric control panel, the PRO remote control also has a button for Disney +, which the normal remote control does not have either.

    Google translated Total TV
De VU+ YAY GO PRO Android TV mediaspeler heeft extra's voor de VU+ decoder | Totaal TV

    YAY GO.jpg

The Korean Marusys has been successfully marketing TV decoders under the VU+ brand name for several years now. The manufacturer is now also entering the online media player market with the YAY GO series. We test the top model from this model line, namely the YAY GO PRO.
    In the box
Quite a few accessories are included with the YAY GO PRO. In addition to the media player itself, we naturally find the power adapter in the packaging, but also two remote controls with corresponding batteries. Also striking is the separate USB dongle. A manual and a good quality HDMI cable complete the contents.
    Appearance
The YAY GO PRO is a nice looking media player in a black version. The housing immediately reminds us of a media player from another manufacturer that has been available for a while, namely the You-Box from the Spanish brand Youin. Not only the connections, but also the hardware and the operating system of the media players are identical.
    Connections
There are connection options on both sides of the device. There is an HDMI 2.1 connection for image transfer. There are also three USB ports, one of which is USB 3.0 and one USB-C. Analog audio and video are available via a 3.5mm AV mini-jack port, and for digital audio there is an optical output. A microSD card slot is available for storage expansion. To complete it all is an Ethernet connection. Although it is a new model of media player, the maximum Ethernet speed is only 100Mbps and therefore no gigabit.
    Two remote controls
As mentioned: not one but two remote controls are included with this media player. Always handy, of course, if you've lost one or want to be able to control the media player together on the couch, but there is a clear difference between the two remotes. The first copy is as we are used to from most media players, namely a zapper with only the most important keys. The second remote control is more extensive and has, for example, color and number buttons. Later in our test it would become clear why this more extensive variant is included. Both remotes work via bluetooth and have four pre-programmed 'hot keys'. This allows us to open the streaming services Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video and YouTube with one touch. The operation of both remotes is good, as is the key layout.
    Android 10
The YAY GO PRO is an online media player that works with the Android TV operating system. Our test model has Android 10 installed. This provides ample online options. The media player has been officially certified by Google, which offers several advantages. For example, we can watch content from Netflix and YouTube in 4K image quality. This is not the case with all 4K media players because both video services place additional demands on the hardware to be able to show images in native 4K. Another advantage is that the streaming technology Chromecast is built into the YAY GO PRO. Official support from Google also means that there are over seven thousand apps available for this media player. The number of films and series that we can rent digitally from Google via this media player has now risen to more than half a million. The Google Assistant is also supported by this media player.
    Smart IPTV
And then that remarkable USB dongle in the package. Ultimately, it turns out that this brings additional streaming options. This dongle makes it possible to stream video to the YAY GO PRO via the protocols HTTP, UPD, RTP and RTSP. Another option is to connect to a VU+ TV decoder within the home network. This makes this media player a 'client' with which we can watch live TV and recorded programs via the VU+ TV decoder. This can be a valuable addition to this media player. And with that it is now also clear why a second, more extensive remote control with color and number buttons is included. The pre-installed VU+ app on the home screen of the YAY GO PRO plays an important role in this. The USB dongle is only included with the PRO models of the YAY GO series.
    Technical heart
Marusys uses a chipset in the YAY GO PRO that is used in many Google certified and Android TV OS based media players. This is the Amlogic S905X3 with an ARM Cortex A53 quad core processor with a maximum performance up to 21800 DMIPS. Linked to this is a DDR3 SDRAM memory of 2 GB and an MMC flash memory of 8 GB. The storage memory can be expanded via USB or the microSD card slot.
    Kodic
On the YAY GO PRO - just like on other Android TV OS media players - Kodi can also be installed via an app. This means that video, music and photo files from computers and NAS devices within the home network can be easily played on TV via this media player. The operation of this possible is problem-free. Almost all files are supported
