you have to upgrade

i did but 2.0.3 is freezing each time i connect my external hdd, so i got back to 2.0.2 (that was working just before the upgrade) and now impossible to install ipk
you are going to tell me that one of my files on the HDD is corupted but why is it working perfectly on 2.0.2?

ok in that case how can i solve the freezing issue when connecting external hdd with 2.0.3?

We need to know how much big is your HDD, how much USB ports your unit have, how many ports you use to connect it to your box, what model of vu+ you have, if you use an external USB hub (with or without power), what filesystem is used, where is mapped your external HDD in your box and where is the problem in detail

ok so let's start:

  • HDD 2TB (with power) / one usb 3.0 port / one partition FAT32 (1.75TB) / one partition NTFS (250GB)
  • VU+ SOLO2 / front usb for external HDD / rear usb for usb wifi stick
  • no mapping for this HDD because i'm always deconnecting it / reconnecting
  • when starting the VU+, if external HDD is connected, image freezes at startup
  • when entering media player, vu+ freezes (the upper left icon keep turning)
I think that is all

thank ou in advance

I've heard of a virus that renames wget to ~wget - you can check to see if your wget has been renamed and if it has, rename it back and try again.

that wget could be renamed (as suggested by Lincsat above) where would i find wget in vu+ultimo or any other way to resolve this error please.

If wget has been renamed i would perform a full reflash on the receiver and a full factory reset on the router it's connected to as well otherwise it will very likely become infected again.

thank u pheonix, where would i find wget to rename it, i checked usr/bin there is no wegt file. but there is just w file. i am not an expert but can follow instructions. any help to resolve this issue will be appreciated.

have a look in /usr/bin, you may find the wget has been renamed to -wget. however as i said you dont want to rename it, if your wget file has been renamed to -wget it means your receiver and more than likely your router are infected with a virus.
