Am I doing right thing with my vu+ duo?

Dear Forum users,

I bought my first receiver in my life recently, and it's vu+ duo, and I would like to know, if I'm doing the right stept of configuring my receiver. I'm not going to ask you full tutorial, or show me how to do it, the only thing I want to know if I'm on the right direction. Here what I'm intend to do:

1. Will download bootloader to my duo, and install it, as I've found some info, that before any image, you need to upgrade boot.
2. I will download stable version of BH image, there are some recent releases, but users complain about their stability, so I think I would go with 1.72 or 1.73
3. From BH I will get 3cam emu, which I know how to configure.

Could you tell me if everything is OK?

My current image is: Experimental 2011-11-08
Version: Nov 2011 vuplus experimental

Any help would be so much appreciated.

Any help would be so much appreciated.

1. CFE (Vu+ bootloader) must be updated if you want use recent images (start from BH 1.6.7 you need updated bootloader)
2. BH 1.7.8 is stable.
3. You are warned. Read Board rules. No EMU/CAM allowed here.

Just a quick one, in the right corner when you press OK when on main screen, there is clock and date, how do I set up thos, I do have 1970 year.

Also I've got message in the middle of the screen "from bouqet "userbouqet.favourites.tv" order", what does it mean?

4Q1,,,U can do manually: press > menu >>setup>>system>>Time Zone (choose your area from there)
4Q2,,,,Its where U have made your channel settings, (its a long story,,) ,,,Read/Search the board for more info!

Decided not to start new thread, and ask here, being using BH image for some time, and I do have some questions, maybe someone can help me:

1. Currently I'm on 1.7.8, if I want to go back, should I flash boot, and when install new version, let's say I want to go back to 1.7.6? Or do I need to delete current image, ot it's ok to overwrite?
2. Will all my settings will be deleted, like network settings, channel favourites etc. ?
3. If I want to go for another image, should I delete current and then install new?

If yes how can I save my favourite channels?

The reason, I want to go back to more stable version, as I get some errors on current 1.7.8. For example if I increase the size of the screen using TV remote control, BH menu increases as well, and you are not able to control and view it properly, as screen goes far behind TV screen, unless you select smaller size of your screen again using TV remote, but if you do that, the channels are too small to watch in size. How can I solve that problem?

Also IMHO receiver reboots too long with BH, I don't know about other images, but it takes nearly a minute to reboot it.

Q2R1>U can use BH Personal settings to save your settings,favourite channels and more!
Q3R2>If U created BH universe's , use the bing bang to collapse the universes, and U can install any image , the new image will erase the the STB flash!

BH 1.78 is very stable,,,U can use the plug-in> Aspect Ratio (@BH addon Server) to control the picture size on the TV.
