When I backup my Settings it takes 20 minutes to complete.

When I backup my image it takes 2minutes 30 seconds to complete.

Why does it take much longer to backup my settings?

I backup to HD and use script for Image backup.

Do you use Software Manager to backup your settings?
If you use it, the thing is very strange becouse it takes only few seconds to make a backup.

No I just choose backup.
Execution in progress :tar:Removing leading `/`from member names .python-history appears with a file list then the box freezes for approx 20 minutes. Then Backup is done and the box can be used.

These are the folders that are selected for backup
etc.
home
share
usr
var
.python-history

Practically your backup includes the whole image :D

Try to select only the following files or directory:
  • /etc/enigma2
  • /etc/fstab
  • /etc/hostname
  • /etc/network/interfaces
  • /etc/password
  • /etc/resolv.conf
  • /usr/bin/.Bhautoswap
  • /usr/bin/nfs_server_script.sh
  • /usr/bin/inadyn_script.sh

Is there a way to include EPG search history in settings backup? Which file/folder should be included?

I search for them with Filezilla only one found /etc/enigma2
Thanks for that info, I didn't realise you could search with Filezilla.

I found files for Mytube search history, and EPG providers. These restore fine.

Blackhole EPG search (.pyo) is not restored unfortunately.
