Thanks for the new update.

What kind of DTS HD files are supported?
I have tried quite a few DTS HDMA X264 dxva files and I only get the core DTS sound.
I have also tried DTS- HDΜΑ VC1 REMUX file and it doesn't play at all...

I have tried both Enhanced Movie Center and the default BH media player.
Am I doing something wrong?

It supports DTS-HD specifications. You can find information on official DTS.com website.

What bitrate is that ?

DTS-HD High Resolution Audio, along with DTS-HD Master Audio, compose the DTS-HD extension.

DTS-HD Master Audio is a lossless audio codec. bitrate is 24,5Mbps whereas DTS bitrate is only 1,5Μbp!
DTS-HD High Resolution Audio on the other hand has a bitrate of 6mbps. (NOT lossless and alternative to DTS-HD Master Audio where disc space may not allow it and very rarely used nowadays).

Since solo2 doesn't seem to support DTS-HD master audio, it probably supports only high resolution audio

So, if we are talking only about DTS High resolution audio it's pretty much useless as a feature.
DTS HDMA files that play fine via my computer to my A/V receiver, play only as DTS on VU solo2... That's a pity cause I hoped that HDMA would be supported...

Does it support DTS-HD MA? That's what I would like to know. Apparently it still doesn't I am afraid.
I've tried with a BD rip with only DTS-HD audio tracks and Media Player ... audio works correctly but it's downstreamed to Stereo - BH 2.0.2.
I will make more tests with BH 2.0.3 soon, maybe during weekend.

Angelofsky1980 we have almost the same A/V receiver (mine is Onkyo608) and I believe you are the only who could give us an answer and a solution to the DTS-HD problem.
Many users want to use their solo2 as a media player and DTS HDMaster audio is a must have.

Please try the following demo DTS HDMA reference file:
http://dl.demo-world.eu/download_hd.php?filename=hd_dts_animated_logo_lossless.rar

It plays perfectly well on my PC (windows media centand sends DTS_HDMA audio to my onkyo receiver.
The same file plays only as PCM on solo2...

The same goes with another DTS High resolution demo that plays with NO sound at all on solo2...
http://dl.demo-world.eu/download_hd.php?filename=hd_dts_orchestra_short_lossless.rar

I have tried both the internal BH 2.0.3 media player as well as the Enhanced movie center...
I believe it's a matter of player... Which player supports DTS master audio on VUsolo2? (if there is any yet)

Solo2 must supply raw (not decoded) stream to Onkyo and you must choose "direct' option for sound in Onkyo. If 2.0.3 decodes DTS-MA itself, Onkyo obtains only MultiplePCM stream. Decoding with Solo2 is quite useless thing, if you use Onkyo 608 or similar receivers.

I have even chosen "direct" output option with no result. The input info on onkyo shows "PCM". Whatever output I choose doen't matter.
The audio works fine if I use my PC without having to choose direct option.
It has got to do with solo2 . It's not my fault or my A/v receiver fault. Raw audio passthrough HDMI on solo2 doesn't work as it should.

I have a Sony Home Cinema, connected to my Sony Bravia TV by HDMI 1.4 cable (and all is compatible with that, of course) and for me works with many DTS and DTS-HD files. I didnt tried with your samples yet :S

The difference between the audio streams is the following

It seems to me that Solo2 cannot play high bitrate (sample rate) streams

'direct' sound option means that there is no additional processing of sound in Onkyo, except direct decoding of the digital stream. Otherwise, you may have 5+1 channels even for the stereo input.

If someone has a working on solo2 DTS_HDMA clip please upload it to try it by myself too.
I really doubt it's because of high bitrate that these demo reference clips don't work. 3mbps is a small number compared to other. Something else is wrong.

Try openATV with the new kernel 3.3.8.
Code:
NO LINK HERE Admin Matrix10
I have tried all available images based on 3.3.6. No sound from your clips at all.
I have tried that image as well and no, DTS-HD doesn't work on that one either.
Hope angelofsky will give as the answer.

I do not understand quite well what is the advertised "DTS support" with kernel 3.3.8 images. In fact, with 3.3.6 I have no sound at all, but, as you wrote, there is a kind of downmixed sound in 3.3.8. May be this is it :)?

@all: DTS-HD support is for DVB-S2 transmissions, or for your USB connected Blue-Ray player. Not for ripped and in other way modified DTS audio files. We are respecting copyrights of DTS. So, please, post only if have problems with legal DTS-HD audio format.
Thank you for Respecting Forum Rules.

1) Please, tell me how many channels transmit DTS-HD. 2) Do you think if I have BD with legal DTS-HD and BD player, I have to connect it first with Solo2, not with A/V receiver directly?

Are the demo DTS-HD files I posted illegal? Of course not. So, I have a problem with these legal audio files.
If DTS-HD is only for DVB-S2 transmissions I can accept that, even though it should be clearly noted and there are no such transmissions.
But not tell us that trying to test a demo file is illegal.
According to you all other hardware media players that play such files brake the laws and are illegal as well.
