Just repeated the scenario. Playing a movie off my network drive. Press 9 to fast forward..it works but then press 9 again at 5 second intervals....it eventually locks up.

I have no problems reading/fast forwarding movies in Media Player. It takes a few seconds before playing ( moving 5 minutes forward and playing again ) but it works. no locking here. Sorry.

Hello,
only for information. I use BH 2.09.1 and see freezing sometimes 2 times a day. I have to power off my DUO2 and restart the system. This happens only if using the remote control during recording. Recording goes on for hours, if the unit is not powered off.

Hi Guys, sorry to keep banging on about this issue, but BH is a great image and the one I want to use on my box... tonight I tested latest version of pli and had no problems with the fast forward i.e. I can press "9" as much as I like and video will not crash.. Last night I put a clean version of BH back on the vusolo2 and within a few keypresses of "9" it crashed out for about 1 min before It resumed? But even when it resumes, it's not stable.. it will frequently crash out and then resume. I am working off a network drive that is mounted as a CIF drive on the box. I have no issues sharing with other devices on my network...
Happy to capture any logs guys if you give me some direction on what is needed to solve this.

Yes ! I confirme freezing reading movies from my Syno 712+ connected in gigabits. I never had this problem with 2.07.... It happens without rewinding.

I'm experiencing the same problem on my setup. Playback from CIFS mounts using the internal mediaplayer causes frequent freezes. This was newer an issue on versions prior to 2.1.0.

If you can, use NFS that is the standard de-facto for file client/server communications

Initial tests with NFS shares shows the same symptoms, but the duration of the freezes are much shorter and they appear less frequent. Something changed with the 2.1.0 release and both CIFS/NFS support seem to be affected.

I have the similar problem.
I have Solo2 connected through GBE switch to Synology DS213.
I chose BH image because it perfectly supports Sony’s PlayTV DVB-T dual tuner.
When I installed any newer image BH 2.1.x (with new kernel 3.13.5) my network slowed significantly, for example playback of recorded movie from Synology mounted with CIFS has frequent freezes. I reflashed BH 2.1.0,1 and everything is OK.
The similar problems specific only to certain versions of the Solo2 were observed with VTI 7.0 image and Vuplus team released patch of kernel yesterday.
There is very long thread on the VTI support page dedicated to the slow network with kernel 3.13.5 and Solo2.

I can confirm that BH 2.1.4 cured network problems with Solo2.
Thanks team.
