Blackhole VU+ Duo crashes everywhere

Hi Guys,
Please accept season wishes and my appologies if this has been covered elsewhere.

I have recently got the above and it seems that I am very very good at getting these to crash all over the place. It crashes when I am trying to use Network Browser, Download EPG, Program anythign to record, Configure cam or anything.

Here are two logs for those brave hearted to know how to decipher this. Can someone help me to resolve this once and forever?

I do not know what you have all installed in your image
but it is full and can no longer function properly.
From your log

No space left on device

In the first place.
1.Install a clean image.
with minimal added, and Test.
after the test
day or two
Activate the EPG, only a small number of essential service providers.
(If necessary, create the swap file on USB for more EPG providers)
Do not install unnecessary plugins and skins.

Warning on this forum is not allowed discussion of emulators and the like.

Verify also the correct setup of USB pendrives or hard disks.
As mentioned by my colleague Matrix10, you have no space on your flash probably for wrong installation of something.

It all came preinstalled as the person who sent it has been using these for a long time.

The hdd is 120GB with over 119GB free. Also I havent added anything else on the box. Can someone guide me in a 1..2...3.. easy point how to get everything step by step?

The only thing I installed was the hdd, initialize and change the usb crossepg to hdd.

It's a little difficult and long,
because we do not know what you all do use.

At the forum you can find all information how to install our image.
Before installation, do not forget to make a backup on the PC
possible files you want to have back in to the new image.

I should point out yet again the discussion about the emulators are not allowed on this forum
please read our forum rules.To know what you can ask and write.

So Begin the first to read about our images section for VU duo.
When you install the image and you have problems
Ask a question in the forum.

Thanks Matrix10. Yes it is late and I will be heading to bed soon!

What files should I backup from this? Also can you give me a link to which guide I should try to follow? If possible I would love to install new image from ftp / web / remotely without plugging a physical USB.

the best possible option is USB method, i bet you will have no mistake it is simple as zipping a cup of coffee

When recording starts swapfile becoming very usiful.
I have 128mb swap created and some of it is beeing used constantly.

Please son't make misunderstanding.
The message "No space left on device" means that the flash is full.
This have nothing to do with swap file. Swap file is for RAM not for flash.
The first things to do when the flash is full are to remove skins and plugins form the image and to chack that picons are not installed in flash.

My swap is always zero :lamo:.

So I do not use SWAP and I have never even used .
In principle, almost always I use the receiver with the base image
with very few extras and then he works fast and stable.

But to return to the problem
solution for @alag20 or new image installation
or try to delete all the unnecessary from image
(Green button >> Yellow button >>Addons Uninstall Panel)
And reducing the number of EPG providers for download in CrossEPG and in BH EPG panel if you use BH EPG.

If this does not help
Then the new image installation is the best option.

What's point for image if you can't use with some extra plugins?

It depends on the user.
I use box almost exclusively for watching TV
and not all providers
for this we do not need external plugins and EPG for ten providers.
Anything else that interested me is inside the image
and for this I not need SWAP.
Let's say for my UNO Ram in use only +-30%.
For the duo is probably somewhat more
but nothing critical.
In principle, I have never image crash
only when I experiment and work on new skins.
Many users do not test clean image even two minutes
but immediately install inside plugins
And of course you do not know what causes a certain problem.
If I need to make a choice between a fast and stable image
and other possible addons
Then I'll always choose the first one fast and stable image.

I do not have anything against plugins
but be careful with them because they ,all are not good and can cause problems.
Of course you must take into account the availability of free Flash and memory.

OK.

I reinstalled the same image, reconfigured the hdd etc and all seems to be working and like a charm - yippeeeeee.....

My only trouble is I want to change some of the remote navigation / way buttons work. Anyway how I can do that? Is it simple?
