Changing the timer after recording doesn't work

This is not a recent problem, it is happening for quite a long time. Example:

1. Start a recording manually
2. Go to menu/Timer
3. Edit the recording, and set the timer to stop recording and shutdown.
4. The recording will not stop and go on forever...
