Channels on same transponder info

We know that each tuner is capable of recording more than one channel at the same time, so long as those channels are on the same transponder.

I am sure that with my Duo and with a previous version of BH I was able to set two recordings going and then use the up/down keys and the Red Button=All Channels and those channels unavailable to record were greyed out. This made it easy to see what was still available to view/record.

I am now using Ultimo with BH 1.7.2 so rarely run short of free tuners, but tonight, there were 5 programmes I wanted to record at the same time - and noticed that unavailable channels are no longer greyed out.

Was I imagining this? Was this feature removed? Is there a less hit or miss way to see what channels are or are not available to record when all tuners are busy?

I hope what I have written makes sense!

Thanks, Mark

No, all still the same, you can see a different colour between channels avaiable to be recorded and the channels unavailable to be recorded, this different colour, change from some skins to others, but if you look well you will note at least a little difference.

hello,

I was also wondering something for a while about various channel recorded at the same time.
i am also new into the vu+ community, and i recently got my vu+ultimo.
my question is , when you record a channel through my favourite Cam, is it necessary to have a dedicated Cam for multiple tuner,
like it was in the past with dm8000, we always had to use a double-Cam for decrypting both channel at the same time and on two different
tuner. Is it still the same today ?

thank you in advance for your comments

All channels you can see in same transponder, can be recorded simultaneously by each tuner.

Hi,

I am newbie here. I purchased Ultimo a month ago and I cannot record 2 chanels from different transponder. If I start the recording from Tuner A then there is blank screen from the different transponder channel

Do you have any idea. I tried the original v7 image, BH 1.7.2 and the VTi 4.1 but the results were same

Hi My Friend,
Few days a go , I found that if I set my Tuner B to "loopthrugh to Tuner A" , can see other channels of the same SAT , while recording on other channel!

Hi,

Yes, that is normal BUT you can do it from same transponder only. Unfortunately my Ultimo cannot recording two different channels from different transponder although both tuners have unique cable from twin LNB.

Nice Day

You told about 2 cable to 2 tuners or just for 1 cable to 1 tuners and B tuners loopthrugh to Tuner A ?
If You speak about just 1 cable, when You set up B tuners like loopthrugh to Tuner A and start to recording some channel YOU CAN NOT OPEN ANY CHANNEL on SAME sattelite just from same transporder !
Try on 19e. Start to record Sky Sport HD 1 (sky welt packet) and after that try to open any channels from D+ or Csat. You can not.

Yes I can also that ! It is same vertical polarization. But can not any two transporders, just on same POLARIZATION, it is little numbers of transporders !
Why You can not waching 11976 HB (NAt Geo Wild) while You recording Your freq 12188 ? Can not because it is different polarization, horizontal and vertical.
Also can test on 19e. When You start to recording sky sport hd 1 in Sky welt, You can not open any one channel from Digital + or Csat france...just few channels in austria free and hd+.

Hi,

Sorry I cannot agree with you. If you use loop- thrugh method on the 2 tuners box then you can watch and record 2 channels from same transponder in the same time. If you want to recording 2 channels in same time from different transponder then you have to unique cables to the both tuners and at least the twin LNB too.

My problem is that my new Ultimo cannot recording 2 channels from different transponders in same time or I cannot watch one channel and recording an others from different transponder although I have twin LNB and 2 cable to the Tuner A and the Tuner B. Recently I used STB with 2 tuners PVR function and it worked fine, but the Ultimo does not work with same enviroment.

The seller said that the software is wrong but I tried it with Black Hole, VTi, SIF Team, Open PLi 3rd party images and the results were same

Curently I have a very expensive, unsuaable Ultimo names STB. The Ceru Ltd support (distributor) did not response for a week neither via e-mail nor via facebook.

Did you try to record two different FTA channels ?
May be your descrambling system cannot hold 2 crypted channels at a time.

Yes of course, I tried FTA channels too. I used same enviroment for 4 years with Topfield TF 5000 Masterpiece (2 tuners PVR) Not need more than 1 CAM descrambling two or more scramled channels. Now I tried the DM8000 and it works fine. Xtrend ET9000 worked fine too. I sent an e-mail to the CERU Ltd as a distributor but they did not response any.

It's very strange who tuners A & B doesen't works correctly.
Verify with attention the tuner config: if you use two coax cables (one per tuner) DON'T USE loopback connection in Tuner configuration but "Same As Tuner ....".
I use an SCR LNB with a motorized dish, two SCR addresses and recordings works very good.
