Connect a Mac formatted External HD to VU+ Solo

I have an external hard drive which is formatted under Apple OS X, my VU+ Solo recognises it but can't read the content
Do you please have any idea on how to fix this?

May be needs to be mounted by devise manager....!

Go to the official web site vuplus.com ; then see "software update" ; then download the SOLO CFE file.

Here is copy/paste of the instructions given in official site:

HOW TO UPDATE VU+ SOLO CFE

To avoid large size(>48M) image update problem, please update CFE of your Solo.
** NOTE ** : This Bootloader(CFE) should be used for Solo only. Otherwise it will crash the box.
** NOTE ** : CFE update is not needed for Uno and Ultimo.
** Brief explanation of Solo's bootloader update **
1. Unzip the solo_cfe_2.0_usb.zip to USB stick.(There should be /vuplus/solo/cfe_cfe_auto.bin)
2. Insert USB stick into the USB port of solo and power on the box.
3. It takes just a few secs to update.
4. If solo's front led blinks continuously, restart box.
5. To proceed with image update, you should delete the cfe_cfe_auto.bin at /vuplus/solo in USB stick once bootloader update is finished

After that, flash with latest BH image

After downloading the SOLO CFE file, i can't unzip it, I get an error, please see attached image.

If your have original box then OK
and if not then you can not get help here.

If you can not UNZIP, zip file then it is a problem of your computer software.
You must have software that can unpack ZIP file.

I'm using mac OS X and i do have a software to compress and uncompress files!
The error message i'm getting is "Error 21 - Is a directory" looks like to file is corrupted

and you can download SOLO CFE file here at the end post nr 1

After you can install the newer images.
Of course, under the condition that your box is original.
I am not responsible for it.
And we do not provide any support for clone boxes

I'm sorry, you were right, my software wasn't working well! i downloaded a new one and i uncompressed the CFE file...

before i do anything, could you please tell me what is the Secret Chip file that i found in another website?? they say that it has to be installed first...

I would ask you to patiently read posts that are already on the forum.
Use also the serach function.
Many of the themes and issues have already been processed on the forum.

Black Hole is the name of our image.
There is no Secret Chip file for original boxes.
It is for illegal boxes for which there is no support here.
All those who are found to be here asking (knowingly/aware) support for clone will be removed/banned from the forum.

I can send you my serial num to ensure you that I have a genuine box, not a clone, I found a page (can't post link) that shows the difference between a clone and genuine...

I did the update of the CFE, then I downloaded the latest image V7 that i installed, but my screen is now locked and shows the introduction message "Vu+ Your Smart Linux TV Player" with a "Loading..." in the bottom right
What is that mean?? :S

It means that something is wrong,
that the image can not be started and is at the very beginning.
Are you sure that you have made CFE update ?
Have you took out USB stick from the box after image installation.

I guess so, I followed the instructions, the green light was blinking, I took out the USB stick then restarted the STB!
How can I check if it has been well installed?

Yes I did. But i just realise that I installed a different version of Image. The link I downloaded was in the "Software Update" of VU+ website. I picked V7.0 of 03 February 2012. Hope it will not mess everything out!!
I will now download and install the Image of the link you sent me and will let you know

OK, now everything has been correctly installed, thank you for your assistance
But even if I have installed the latest image, my box still doesn't read the content of my external hard drive
it mounts it, but when I select the hard drive, it shows an empty folder!
as I mentioned earlier, my External hard drive is formatted for Mac OS X
