Totally wrong
There is a big difference between the joke and the serious (post nr 16).
You can both find them in my posts.

It's true. You can put a helicopter on your receiver if you like
it's not mine.
I said my opinion.
If it was necessary to put active cooling, then a serious fabricator would do it.
How is not my VU + receiver ever broken
I believe VU + has the highest standards of production and engineering.
Therefore, no active cooling is necessary at room temperature and with free air circulation.
This is the specification of the device and the instruction in use.

My opinion is not to offend you but just opinion from one electronics engineer with more than 25 years of experience.

Nobody here wants to be sarcastic or irrespectful. Sometimes a little bit of humour helps looking at issues in a more relaxed way.
What Matrix meant is: if the box is appropriately located and with the needed space and ventilation all around it, the factory conditions are safe enough. As you did not specify if your box is free enough to breathe, it seemed exageggerated to add a fan.
From another point of view I perfectly know that heat is the major cause of short life in IT and in electronics.
So you both might be right ;)

One of the biggest advances in electronics in recent years is that we have stronger processors with less dissipation of heat
which made it possible to build devices without cooling and in small boxes.
And not only processors but also other components and power supplay based on AC-DC / DC-DC converters without large transformers and components
with high temperature dissipation.
These two things enabled the long life of the device with and without active cooling.
And that cooling is limited only to a couple of components
depending on the device.
Which practically means that the chance that the device will be broken due to temperature
is far less than other factors.

If you remember a few years ago almost all receivers, computers and devices
they had active cooling with the fans.
That's not the case anymore.
We have a lot of devices without a fan , and all VU + 4K receivers.

Oh, may be Open BH users make comparison temperature in menu with output of this command?

root@vuzero4k:~# cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone*/temp
60374

Or

Code:
root@vuzero4k:~# cat /sys/devices/virtual/thermal/thermal_zone*/temp
60374
