I have been running the Duo2 here in the United States for a few months.
The blind scan capability of the Duo2 will vary with different images. Some images do not have blind scan while others will only scan the Ku band. A few images will scan both C and Ku bands, but none of the images that I have tried to date will blind scan on all 4 tuners. Blind scan seems to be limited to tuners A & C in a 4 tuner system.
Blind scan sensitivity varies a bit, depending on the image. I can say the Duo2 is capable of logging transponders in a blind scan that will only have a couple of db in Signal to noise Ratio. On a scale of 1 to 20, with 1 being the highest and 20 being the lowest, I would rate the blind scan on the Duo2 as a 4.
The blind scan speed on the Duo2 could be considered slow when compared to a lot of cheaper fta receivers. I have seen blind scan times on the Duo2 ranging from 2 minutes to around 20 minutes, depending on the satellite being scanned. Depending on the image, the Duo2 is capable of blind scanning transponders with a Symbol Rate of about 1,000 to 45,000.
I think the Duo2 could be the King of blind scan if a little more effort was put into this feature. It works pretty good the way it is (depending on the image) but other receivers that are less expensive and less capable have a much faster blind scan. EB
