Duo2 and blind scan

I am contemplating getting a Duo2 with two tuners. Does anyone know which images support blind scanning for C and Ku sats?

2- Does the blind scan work on both tuners?
3- Anyone have blind scanning times for both C and Ku vs. non-blind scanning?
4- Do scanning times differ between images utilized?

Thank you for your input.

Has anyone experimented with blind scan yet? Looking for real life reviews. Mods if I posted this in wrong location, please move.
Thank you.

For the managers, development specialists and other experts at Vu+ the corporation, which I hope visit this site; I would appreciate an answer to this question please.

Why is the blind scan so slow on the Vu+Duo2 receivers. I have compared the scan times on both C band and Ku band using Openvix, Openatv and Pnigma images which do not use a plugin type scan. The comparison was against a Fortis Optibox Raptor which is similar to the Octagon receiver model 1028 which utilizes StiLinux and does not use a plugin to scan.

The Vu+ Duo2 has a much, much faster processor and memory compared to the Fortis Octagon's (Raptor) 450 mhz. chip. It would seem to me that even if the current blind scan drivers for Vu+ are not optimized, they should still scan faster than the Fortis Octagon (Raptor).

I sincerely hope the folks at Vu+ iron out the kinks in the drivers because it is doing a terrible disservice to the performance and other qualities of this outstanding receiver.

I did email them, with no response.

Has anyone got any info on the above question? I would like to purchase a Dou2 but am concerned about the blind scan facility. I run a Vu+ Duo which does not support blind scan which was a disappointment when I purchased it some 3 years ago, one of my interests are looking for live news feeds etc. surely someone out there uses blind scan and can give us an answer, good or bad?

I guess it may be the general holiday period the world is in why now one has replied. I will put off for another week before I decide whether to purchase or not.

I have been running the Duo2 here in the United States for a few months.
The blind scan capability of the Duo2 will vary with different images. Some images do not have blind scan while others will only scan the Ku band. A few images will scan both C and Ku bands, but none of the images that I have tried to date will blind scan on all 4 tuners. Blind scan seems to be limited to tuners A & C in a 4 tuner system.

Blind scan sensitivity varies a bit, depending on the image. I can say the Duo2 is capable of logging transponders in a blind scan that will only have a couple of db in Signal to noise Ratio. On a scale of 1 to 20, with 1 being the highest and 20 being the lowest, I would rate the blind scan on the Duo2 as a 4.

The blind scan speed on the Duo2 could be considered slow when compared to a lot of cheaper fta receivers. I have seen blind scan times on the Duo2 ranging from 2 minutes to around 20 minutes, depending on the satellite being scanned. Depending on the image, the Duo2 is capable of blind scanning transponders with a Symbol Rate of about 1,000 to 45,000.

I think the Duo2 could be the King of blind scan if a little more effort was put into this feature. It works pretty good the way it is (depending on the image) but other receivers that are less expensive and less capable have a much faster blind scan. EB

Hi to you all, VU+ DUO2 blind scan feature is a bit faster than when performing Automatic Scan when i tested it using Black Hole Image, i wonder why this Vu+ Duo 2 is so expensive yet my other Satellite decoder that i like most which is STRONG SRT 4922 model can out smart it when it comes yo blind Scan where by even one can set the speed of scanning the transponders from 1 to 36 and if you select speed 36 on Strong srt 4922 decoder, all Satellites that your dish is pointed to will take less than 2 Minutes !! I wish the VU+ duo2 decoder could support extra features such as delete channels, Move channels, Rename Channels as it doesn't contain this crucial features when using Black Hole image

I think you will have a very big list of what the Duo2 Can do as compared to what the STRONG SRT 4922 cannot do. Hopefully one day the Duo2 blindscan can be improved.

In enigma2, there is not a way that i know of to Delete channels, Move channels, or Rename Channels unless you make a bouquet and edit it. Channel editing needs to be done on a computer using a channel editor program. There is an enigma2 plugin that allows some editing of channels, but I do not think it is compatible with the Duo2 BlackHole image.

For the immediate future, my guess is BH will not be supporting blind scan for C band or for selectable Ku band lnbs, i.e., universal vs. linear for the Duo2.

Decent Blindscan including C band are available. Many images for the Duo2 have these features, but the Black Hole image does not have a C band. blindscan

The above is interesting and by the look at it this Blind scan plugin Function is useless on the duo2 not unless someone can direct me in a different direction.

The blindscan feature is not useless and it does work on 2 of the 4 internal Duo2 tuners. If you are having a blindscan problem, please explain what it is.
