hi
guys got my vu+duo,
working good
but i have 1 question ( my box is without hdd )
fan noice is irritating,
oki i can understand when box is on then it should work but even in stand by fan work and make noice, its not too much noice but its in my bedroom
so in night it make some irritating noice,
so my question is that it should stop in standby or it always works,
some time it stop in standby but in mid of night in standby mod fan start,
any idea guys what to do ,

You can use timing if you like
but you can also switch OFF timing
If you have Fan basic action off .You Fan will not work in Standby
You have to SAVE your new settings.

But what do the fan duration on/off numbers represent? Is it recommended to keep the fan on or off in standby?

It is a timer setup: you can set the time which the fan is on and the time is off, the measure unit is seconds

It is not true

This plugin regulates the fan in standby mode
and only in Standby
here we have two possibilities
fan always off or on in standby
fan turned on a certain period
Each number is minutes rather than seconds
example you like fan 5 min on and fan 55 min off
you have to put and SAVE

Fan basic action off
Fan on duration time oo5
Fan off duration time 055

:ice: actually today i removed the cover on my vu+ duo and used high compressed air to blow the dust away from both fan and motherboard, as theres a lot of dust entering box.
but be carefull hold a finger or a screwdriver on one fan blade so it doesnt spin up in high rpm,,as this can cause fan to stop working.
and please dont do this if youre not exactly shure what youre doing.....

If your box is not in a closed space
It would not be a problem ,at least I think so.
Im not using fan in standby.
It is important that the box is not closed and heated by other electronic tv/video etc

Hi
I like to tell you how to get rid of the noise:
Open the box and remove the power to the fan, then you have yotal silence.
I n my hove I have 2 vu+ boxes, now running on second year without any problem,
and both my boxes are always on 24/7 (never on standby) because I use Logitech
remotes, and they often fail to switch the VU+ on an of .
