Hello.

-I am trying to mount a shared folder
for quite some time now with no success !

-My Network is under IP range 192.168.1.x / 255.255.255.0 .
I have 8 port Hub 10/100Mbit.
On the Hub is VU+ Solo / aDSL Router / 5 PCs.

-Only one PC has Big HDD to store picture/Video/Music/etc.
This PC has Win7 X86 and Five User Accounts with password.
I have Created a new Account with Username & Password
to Use with VU+ Solo.( UserName=DVB Password=DVB )

I have given full access permission to VU+ account on Win7 Shared folder.
This folder is also the same for other PCs to Share data.
My network Type is Home Network.
Folder Win7 Location C:\Media
Folder Network Location //192.168.1.10/Media

VU+ Mount Point settings.

I don't know what else to try . :lamo:

Thank You All ! :thanks:

check the firewall, antivirus, etc.

gg.
I have try to temporally disable NORTON 360 but not deference.
You are making this far to complicated, w7 supports UPnP.
With BH image press Blue x2 scroll down to UPnP Client DJmout - Red to Enable
Now use you media player and select DLNA and you will see your w7 directories.
I will try this soonest possible
DVB user is allowed to browse your share?

Yes.
Full Shared Folder permissions.

I remember the successfully mounting of my W7 share on Duo but at the moment my windows machine is taken offline for maintenance (CPU cooler broken)... :(

With my previous receiver and WinXP X86 I had no issues.
Win7 Far more complicated for security reasons.
But sooner or later with our community's excellent support,
I will be successful.

Have you tried via DLNA ?
Just set up your w7 via network and sharing centre.
On your Vu enable Djmount, it takes minutes.
Yes I have but i can't see the files on win7 pc, although i can see all PCs.
My network is 3Pc winXP / 1PC Media HTPC / 1PC Win7 Server(Game PC).
All shared folder don't have permission for everyone or homegroup computers.
Reason is different use for every pc.
Specifically The folder i wond to share with VU+ Solo Has Kids movies
Permissions for folder are :
DVB rw (VU+ Solo)
PC1 r
PC3 r
PC2 rw
I have tried manually mount folder but i had no luck also.
I have given the following command.
mount -t cifs -o username=DVB,password=DVB //192.168.1.10/movies /var/mnt/net
Receiver responded after 2-3min " Host is Down "

-Well I have tried all i think of and i was unsuccessful ! :wallbash:
I have easily and successfully mount VU+ Solo media/net with TEST folder on my other WinXP computer.
What is so different on Windows Seven ? !

-Also from VU+ Network Menu I have successfully mount win7 folder as SHARENAME(Default).
But i wasn't able to find it anywhere ! ?

-I am thinking to test with other teams images to
eliminate BH image issues.

Has anyone did successfully what I am struggling unsuccessfully to achieve with BH image ?

Finally I gave up.
I was NOT successful to mount WIN7 folder with VU+ Solo.

I will Install New HDD to a WinXP PC and move Kids Media there.
WinXP mount at VU+ Solo is very very easy.:D

Heres how I mount my Windows 7 drive -

1. create folder on PC - mine is called 'vu'
2. create administrative user on PC, to keep things simple lets call the user 'vu' and the password 'vu'
3. share the folder : properties --> sharing --> advanced sharing --> make sure 'share this folder' is checked and click permissions --> make sure everybody has full control

On your Vu+ box -

1. menu --> setup --> system --> Network --> Mount Manager
2. Add a new network mount point
3. Active - yes, local share name - nas, mount type - CIFS share, server IP - (enter PC IP here), server share - /vu, username - vu, password - vu

Don't select 'use as hdd replacement' as I've seen this do some funny things....manually amend recording paths and recorded files path!

Please help!!

I added my mountpoint and then I went to recording paths and I can't see my "mountpoint" anywhere! I called the local share "Vu" - is there a step I'm missing? How can I get it to actually show up

Edit: I pressed menu, switched to "file list" and checked all the parent directories... there's nothing!
