hey Guys,

I'm an absolute newbie and hopeless with technology. I'm at a holiday house in Latvia, it has a zero...there was some connection problem (channels wouldn't work anymore - owner said it was a service issue) and long story short I did a factory reset!!!

Please help I'm completely stuck I've gone to the tuner section and tried a few scans with different settings but no luck!

Thank you in advance!

Joe

Contact the owner and ask which satellites were available, unless you know if the dish was fixed/motorized, did they use a Diseqc switch, to combine several dishes/LNB's.
You can also check if he did a backup, that you can load, and which image he was using.

Hey,

Yeah I did ask him but he's as clueless as I am, he got others to do most of the installations around the house..hopefully he gets back to me soon... But other wise I just have to try and get luck on one of the configurations for the scan I suppose..

Thanks for your reply I appreciate it

Can you remember any of the channels, you were viewing, before the problems?
Were they in English?
did they include any channel idents, or information?

Hey!

The majority of the channels were in Russian, but there were only a few English channels..

RT - Russia today
BBC
BBC MARKETS
... And a couple more

Thanks!

RT, Russia Today, is available on a number of satellites, as are BBC channels.
If you think of any more try typing them into the kingofsat search box, and see if you can narrow down the satellite. Also most channels have an audio option, which can provide an English, or other, soundtrack:

hey, ok finally getting somewhere, thanks for that link found the sat I think;

Stats: Eutelsat Hotbird 13A/13B/13C (13.0E)

When I do a manual search using the details below it finds 70 channels but no picture...
And error message about tuner configuration.. (When I run auto scan no error message comes up but I still can't see any picture after the channels are found)

Tuner A: BCM7362 DVB-S2 NIM (internal) (DVB - S2)
Single
Stats: Eutelsat Hotbird 13A/13B/13C (13.0E)

When I go to menu- tuner configuration- choose tuner- reception settings- then???
There are different configurations.. Don't know which one to choose

Thanks again!

If you are on 13E try scanning in some FTA, Free To Air, channels, the ones with a red F, in the link, and see if you can view them:

Not sure if I'm doing it right ? On the manual scan what are the settings, say for one of the channels on the list eg: 10775H (MD)

So my manual screen search setting are as below;

Tuner tuner A:BCM7362......
Type of scan Single transponder
System DVB-s
Satellite Eutelsat hot bird
Frequency. 10775
Inversion Auto
Symbol rate 27500
PolRisation horizontal
Fec. 5/6
Network scan No
Clear before scan Yes
Only free scan. Yes

If that's correct then the scan result is zero

...??

Which makes me think that you're scanning the wrong satellite.
Can you please post some of the channel names, and details, that you did manage to scan in, or try manually scanning in other satellites, like Astra 1, 19.2E.
Code:
http://www.lyngsat.com/Astra-1KR-1L-1M-1N.html
Or other possible satellites:
Code:
http://www.lyngsat.com/europe.html
Try the FTA ones.

I think you might be on 15W, judging by the pictures:
Code:
http://www.lyngsat.com/Telstar-12.html

Although just checked a couple of others, on kingofsat, and it states that they aren't broadcast in Europe.

keep your congiguration at Simple, for the moment.
I take it the owner hasn't got back in touch, to help you out?
