There was a misunderstand.
I've mention serial output that is a connection with serial nullmodem cable between box and PC.
Using a software called Hyperterminal (Windows) or Minicom (Linux) you can see (and report here) what the box doing during boot and show the problem .....

Shutdown your box
Connect serial cable between box and PC
Open Hyperterminal or Minicom, establish a serial connection with the software (serial settings: 115200,8,n,1)
Startup your box
Paste here all the text your box report to serial program.

My solo used to have trouble starting after flash and the red LED would stay on>
I used to have a way of doing it by reflashing then turning on only after one minute wait then it would start.

i have win7 as well, and i have used without problems hyperterminal...search it with google..
you have not to install it, just execute and then in the option configure as angelofsky told you...let us know

Contact directly Vu+ and expose the problem you have. I think they have official distributors in north Africa.
