I found this old thread and I have now (with BH 3.0.2G) the same need. I have some videos (mp4) and all the related srt files (with the same name). Everything, even in my case, works fine by VLC but not by BH. I also converted, in case they weren't, in UTF-8 both by TextEdit for OsX and by Notepad.
But it didn't work neither by BH nor by EMC. I thought that at least EMC (last version) would be able to make .srt work.
Is it normal and what is the way now, after 5 years from the start of this thread?
