Official Vu+ Wireless dongle 300 Mbps problem on BH 2.0.1 !

Is your dongle working with official image? BH is based on that one and is trying to do the best.

Yes, it works with official image. I bought my Solo2 2 months ago. First, upgraded from official image to Blackhole 1.7.9-3 latest available at that time. When the new version was released i.e. Blackhole 2.0, the dongle stopped working.

Both Vu+ Solo2 and the dongle I bought in Germany.

I suppose (as once Angelofsky told us) that we have 2 types of Vu+ dongle: one is supplied with with Duo LE and Ultimo with Realtek chipset, intested our are Ralink chipset.
I saw the "r in circle" also on what seems another type of dongle (different from mine, 150M) sold also as Vu+ original.
I will feel very bad if BH will confirm me that I was duped. I really hope you are wrong !!!
I really appreciate Vu+ and the BH team work. And that's the reason why I bought this dongle instead of any other brand ...

But back on the dongles, if I can resume, with Ralink chipset until 1.7.9 we didn't have any problem with these dongles.
From 2.0.0 without encrytion or with WEP works perfectly, instead with WPA doesn't work.

I think that the last driver updates applies to this dongle.
So it is likely to be resolved soon.
I also have two VU dongle
but the other versions and driver.
They work perfectly.

Hello i have the same problem only whit the 150 Mbps type works fine whit BH 1.7.9,
but will not work with BH 2.0.1 version it also the official type for the vu+,
maybe there are more people whit the same problem.
Maybe you can also check this version also thanks for the latest BH 2.0.1 like it very much!!!

Is there any chance that we will get this problem fixed in the next few days or should I consider rolling back to BH 1.7.9-3 version? it has been now almost 1 month since the problem has been reported!

remek3333 reports RT5372, official Duo Ultimo (Artorius and Shiro) RTL8192CU, yadranko RT2870STA, athlon64x2 RT5372 ?

Which one is really official? Is more versions on market? I smell clones ...

I think both are official, with 2 chipsets.
The first with rtl8192cu and the second with RT5572 or similar one.

What revision of DGN2200 do you have? I think it's DGN2200 v1 .... it's correct?
I've seen on Netgear website 3 revisions avaiable ....

I've read the manual of your network equipment (router) but seems all OK.
I suggest to enable SSID broadcast and use both WPA and WPA2 security option on the router.

When setting WPA and WPA2 security option a popup alerts you that you can use it only in mode Up to 54 Mbps (so as "G" instead of "N" standard).
But I tried what you suggested, but the problem remains the same.
I made another wifi.txt file for you with this suggested configuration.

Of course I can make other tests, but I don't think that there is a problem in our ruoter configurations.
The updated Ralink driver works with WPA encryption in a Linux Pc?

Same problem here with my 150Mbps version of official Vu+ dongle. No IP. I'm sure my network is set up correctly with wpa/wpa2 encryption as other computers and devices work just fine. It's definitely a bug in the system - encryption. The dongle sees the SSIDs, so it's partially working.
Any progress on the new drivers? Thanks..

BTW: Turning off DHCP and setting the IP manually didn't help. No Internet connection..

I've tested this evening the latest Ralink STA driver with a linux PC and a Linksys USB dongle .... and works correctly with my wireless systems.
I've detected also some warnings on compile process and I will try to fix them.
I've also a friend who has a DGN2200 v1 router and shortly I should receive it to reproduce the wirless problem.

Hi everyone

First of all I want to thank so many great people here who lend their valuable time supporting the community and helping others. I am so grateful.

As I mentioned I have vu+ solo with a vu+ wifi dongle (both I got as genuine).
Unfortunately the new driver set by angelofsky1980 for Ralink does not work and the problem remains.
BH 2.0.2 also shows exactly the same problem.
with new drivers and bh2.0.2 the the behavior is essentially the same which is No connection in WPA or WPA2 mode despite working flawlessly in Open or WEP modes. Same box connects to the router with bh1.7.9 in WPA2 mode without a glitch. the Router is Linksys E4200 v1 and all settings are as recommended in this topic (broadcast ssid, very simple character only passphrase and so on).

edit: I also checked using a D-Link DW-140 v3. with BH2.0.2 in WPA2 mode the LED on dongle does NOT blink and it looks dead. in Open mode though it works.

I will attach the log from my box to the new thread as requested here in this topic.
