As requested, I am opening a new thread, although I did report this problem 1 month ago (along with @remek3333)

attached the picture of the dongle (which I did already post) and the wifi.txt diagnostic file.

I should also add that I have a CD with the drivers on it but I am not sure how to install the drivers on the Vu+. I did test the Dongle on my PC with the windows drivers and it works perfectly. I am attaching the readme file on the CD

Your SSID seems hidden and I cannot determine their configuration.
If you use only wifi connection, into Enigma2 configuration panels, do you see the wifi networks avaiable near your position?

Could you please post some details about your network equipment and their configuration?

My SSID is not hidden. I am not an expert eaither but from the wifi.txt, it seems there is a link. Link quality seems good but when I test the network, there is no ip address confirmation and I can't see any connection on the admin interface of the router

wlan0 Ralink STA ESSID:"SFR_0230" Nickname:"RT2870STA"
Mode:Managed Frequency=2.437 GHz Access Point: 30:7E:CB:63:02:34
Bit Rate=270 Mb/s
RTS thr:eek:ff Fragment thr:eek:ff
Encryption key:40E0-0213-6A0D-4EA2-7D3C-764E-FCBA-5CEB [2] Security mode:eek:pen
Link Quality=78/100 Signal level:-58 dBm Noise level:-58 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0
attached some config details as pdf file. The router is supplied by the ISP. Can't really figure out the make/model. Probably built specifically for the ISP.

@Foxy21: How did you configured your LAN, WLAN? Because from your files I can read, that your LAN is working, WLAN stick is detected (so drivers are OK), but I'm missing and IP address. Please, write step by step, how you configure WLAN on your box.

First of all, have you tested after box reboot ??

When I go to setup the network > select Network Adapter > WLAN connection I see rt5572sta wireless network interface. Stick is detected. I did configule WLAN connection as follows:

Use device on
Use DHCP yes
ESSID SFR_230 (selected from list of networks)
Encrypt yes
Method WPA2
Key **************** (my key)

after saving and restarting the network interface, I see

IP Address 0.0.0.0
Netmask 0.0.0.0
Gateway 0.0.0.0

When I click on Show Wireless Network Status...

wlan0 Ralink STA ESSID:"SFR_230"
Nickname: "RT2870STA"
Mode: Managed Frequency=2.462 Ghz
Access Point: shows MAC address
Bit Rate = 270 Mb/s
RTS thr:eek:ff Fragment th:eek:ff
Encryption key : Show HEX format key
Link quality=83/100 Signal level:-58 dBm
Noise level: -58dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacons:0

when I test the network I get

WLAN connection OK (green)
Wireless Network connected (green)
DHCP enabled (green)
IP Address unconfirmed (red)
Nameserver unconfirmed (red)

In order to conduct the test, I had to configure the LAN adapter and use an RJ45 cable to send the commands from a telnet terminal!

Here we go  ! Don't use DHCP, set your IP to 192.168.1.200 (example, but should be ok for you), Netmask 255.255.255.0, Gateway 192.168.1.1 (should be your router default IP), activate configuration, set first DNS to 192.168.1.1 (same as your router), second DNS you can leave 0.0.0.0.

At the beginning I had some problems with auto DHCP, so I changed all my devices to fixed IP (no more problems).

You have a test within the Network panel
for this you do not need telnet.
But you have to reboot/restart image.

Config your wlan.
Reboot and test.

OK. I redid the test using the script after reboot. It is still not working. I am attaching the resulting wifi.txt

From the file, I can see that my local network "SFR_230" shows up in the AP scan but for some strange reason, there is no connection!

I will be travelling for few days (but i will be checking my emails/alerts on the forum) so I will not be able to conduct further testing in the next few days. I hope this wifi.txt file will help you find the issue.

@paolino I tried without DHCP but still not working!

I have D-Link DWA-140 B3 based on same chipset rt5372
On my linux desktop it works well and it is using rt2800usb drivers. Not rt5572 that you add in BH 2.0.1. I did SSH to my Vu+ UNO and can't see rt2800usb in /lib/modules/3.1.1/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/rt2x00/
http://wikidevi.com/wiki/D-Link_DWA-140_rev_B3

rt5370sta also works only if rt2800usb loaded

Guys please open a thread for your problems in this section.
Follow instructions on the thread http://www.vuplus-community.net/board/threads/wifi-drivers-how-to-report-problems.11437/ to post some infos.

I've a DWA-140 B3 and RT5572STA driver and the Vu+Uno works correctly.
I've also removed the rt2800usb driver to avoid conflicts.

I don't know how yours works. Mine is recognized but DHCP and Static IP not working at all.
In Linux 3.0 some ralink code was removed and some STAging drivers stop working.

Ok I will create new thread.

Also I use only DHCP (and DHCP reservation if I need a static IP) and I made TV streams From Solo2 (DWA-140 B1) to Vu+Uno (DWA-140 B3)....
