openpli and bh

hi all:

i used black hole 1.7.2 for a couple weeks and now switched to openpli...
i was very suprised as many functionalities are built in openpli ... and it feels more clean and fast..

any addon sugestion ? any comment ?

Open pli is good image!
However BH Images is user frindly,stable,fast and the skin graphics are far better than any other image around!
I've been using BH for more than 3 years,,,,and tested a lot of images,,,,BH Image always my number one choice!

its not bad, im taking it back... im back in BH... it has many nice functionaities...

BH is better with PLI every update has some screw up or the other. They are developers who also expect you to know most of the stuff. A simple thing like cron they wont put in their image. Their advantage is that they have all the softcams you need no manual install BUT BH is much more user friendly. Vix I dont like

Very interesting discussion.
I think it's good to know the opinion preferably at objectively.
It is essential for the further development of the images.

I think that is an inopportune question:this is the BH site and we are all guests.
You will certainly receive only positive feedback because is like asking to the innkeeper if its wine is good!!!!

OpenPli fells more snappier(probably because of no pig skin) & plugins are more compatible with it.
On the other hand BH is very user friendly and you get everything you want where you want it.
My choice is BH.

I do not share your point of view, I think U did not read "cml" 2nd post:

We all try to give an opjective opinion, just like what ckone comments,quoted below:

And ckone ,what plug in that are not compatible with Pli image and not with BH image, will U elaborate?

1. I don't want to break any forum rules but some cam/emu plugins does not work as on OpenPli. 2. The HDMI CEC does not detect the correct port. In Pli it works great.
3. More than that the skins for BH 1.7.x are very limited. A lot of others are crashing the machine and others does not work as they should. OpenPli is more flexible on that. 4. And a last one is that OpenPli has much superior translate in Greek.
Though that it will be changed because satdreamgr had send the same translation to VU and will be available on upcoming official images.

I am focusing on BH because this is my preffered image.

1. Rules breaked
2. PLI hdmi-cec plugin is originally code by BH coder and shared with other teams via PLI sources. BH has adopted vu+ version of that code and can only be better in future
3. Skins not designed for BH should be adapted by respective authors

This is an inappropriate thread that could easly generate flames.
Everyone has it own opinion and preference and everyone is free to use Pli or Bh.
This is not the place where to talk about one image is better than another.
All images and all the works around have to be respected.

Flames can be started when someone does not like talking.
In the end of the day anyone can use whatever image they like.
I don't think that this thread is about what image is better but on how to make something good even better.
We have to compare to see what can be changed.
Talking and listening to each other can only make us better.
And hopefully a great receiver and great image like BH even greater.

I am sorry for breaking rules on my previous post.

regardless of whether they are correct or incorrect,
and regardless of whether someone like or not
but without conflict on others' opinions.
I think it's interesting to hear what you like in our
and other images.
Also what you do not like about our and other images.
I think it can only help to gain an even better images
and not only BH images.

But if the discussion is not fair
We will close thread.

For me, the huge plus in BH is the quality of the skin from Matrix10 (I just wonder if it it possible to design something more smart than Elegance skin)

The weak point (compared to VTI ) is there is no possibility to automatically update DVB drivers..... May be a plugin could do the trick ?

Well i will give my 2 cents on this one, i am relatively new to BH images, i used Openpli for a couple of months now with my new Vu+uno. Previously i had a kathrein ufs910 and only option was AAF enigma2 for me. Anyway i liked OpenPli very much but had trouble with 1080i not displaying correctly on my TV through my Pioneer AMP and also had problem mounting usb and hdd on my specific locations. Thats when i gave BH a try, now i have no problem with 1080i on my TV and also the great device manager is very helpful on mounting things. As a skin i am using HD glass 16 on both images so no difference there. The only thing i am really missing from openpli image is the automatic audio,subtitle,epg languadge menu which was very useful, is there any way to include that in the BH image????
also i am very excited about the tuner server plugin on the new BH image, but haven't had the time to play around with it yet, i am a big XBMC fan and really hope that incorporation of VU STB as a PVR server on XBMC will happen over the next few months.
Anyway respect to all the people putting hard work on all the images and continue bringing exciting features to our STBs.

Hi
I am big fan of BH,but in the moment,i have to try another Images (because BH dont suport IPTV)..
I did try,VTI,PLi but now I am using SIF..
Sif is based on PLI,they have good grafic,USB drivers are installed automatically after connection,they supported IPTV,CLoud system etc etc..

I am hoping that we see some good news in future from BH images :)
