Problem with my new PCTV (systems) nanoStick T2 (290e)

Hi, Couldn't resist buy this one when I was shopping 2 quad LNB and switch (other thread)

But it causes me problem:
From the begining I saved my "latast good knowned configuraton"
But I was so confused. So I nailed it down ;

When I start with a newly flashed Solo2 ((with a clean BlackHole-2.0.1-vusolo2_usb))
Solo2 is equipped with internal HD, external powered USBhub.
In this hub also HD, WiFi and a memory stick.

Same symptom everywhere I put the 290e, but I prefer the hub.
BTW the DVB-T stick is working OK in windoze enviroment.

1:st start after flash, the 290:e is discovered by system,
and it works to scan manual, automatic and one transponder on DVB-T
I have tried several sat, config but I atm uses a= simple b= passtrough
And I can look on FTA both SD and HD.

BUT after reset/restart/powercycle
I got this symptom
Check tuner errormezz on all T-channel that worked before the restart.
The Solo2 still claims that he has a 290e installed, so that is correct.
If I try to scan I got "error starting scanning"

please, help me out here

TIA

It's not clear, what is not working, you can't see DVB-T channels scanned and memorized before Restart?

Did you move your stick to other USB slot when box was off? Could cause a problem. Try to shutdown, put the stick on the slot where it was during scanning and turn the box back on.

Nope, when I tried different USB ports I did the hole cycle (flash-scan-checkfunctionOK-restart-disfunctional)
in that port. Same symptom everytime

Try to do in this way (I think I found a bug similar to your). If you did a scan and you have DVB-T channels in your box, let the box on one of those and do Menu > BH Shutdown > Restart. Try to do it maybe two times, your card should work again.

After 8 different attempts on my solo2 without success,
with and without rev_A, tuner placed here and there, on and off,
different scanmethods and so on.
So I tried it on my windows computer _again_,
Now I have problem there to.
Picture disappears when I change channel and more trouble.
Will now change the dvb-t tuner, on warranty.

Thanks

Thank you for an answer! When you will get a new one, please report how it's working.

Hi (again)
They where out of stock, but now I have received my replacement unit (warrenty)

Evening the day before yesterday, tested OK on my XP laptop, _rock_solid_

So I thought that it should work on my Solo2 201A also but NOT,
when I tried yesterday evening pretty much the same behavior as earlier
different approach from me all time and different behavior from box.
guess that I hade it working a couple of times of twenty.
Also got this harddisk issue not mounted.....
So I was thinking of timing issue or something with USB sw or hw

So I was glad to see 202 this morning, installed it but same behavior, weird.

If I do this way I can scan again and look to next reboot again.
((don't ask me why have no clue what so ever))
"project cleanup and fix back DVB-T channels "
standby
rename terrestrial.xml
change to a lamedb with only my SAT-entry's no junk of DVB-T
reboot
renaming back terrestrial.xml
reboot GUI
automatic scan on USB tuner
now I can watch again to next rebbot

so this evening I think I have to do a little scripting

TIA

Hi again
Now are logs attached
Both from working state and not working state after reboot.

Here are my minutes, how I did it.

Solo2 BH202 2013-03-20-master, TunerC:pCTV 290e (DVB-T)
new DVB-T2 PCTV (systems) nanoStick T2 (290e)

1:st get it work again,

standby
rename terrestrial.xml
change to a lamedb with only my SAT-entry's no junk of DVB-T
reboot
renaming back terrestrial.xml
reboot GUI
automatic scan on USB tuner
now I can watch again to next reboot

print logs "B4__Reboot"
restart GUI still working
reboot NOT WORKING thereafter "check tuner" mezz
print logs "AfterReboot"

TIA

Hi
a little update
Not necessary to change lamedb, following is enough, to get DVB-T channels back.
init 4
cp /etc/tuxbox/terrestrial.xml /etc/tuxbox/terrestrial.xmlbak
rm /etc/tuxbox/terrestrial.xml
init 6
.....and then wait a little and then
init 4
cp /etc/tuxbox/terrestrial.xmlbak /etc/tuxbox/terrestrial.xml
init 3
....... and now autoscan on DVB-T and then everything OK again.

I have used terrestrial.xml original from image and a local one with only my MUX's.

Is it possible to scan from CLI ??

TIA

Please help me out !!!!!!

Done some online updates, trials, tuning and installing
on my running image but error percists.

So let us start from scratch with a new trial
and nail it down to only a few rows and pieces

Nothing connected to Solo2 then
internal HDD, LAN and PCTV (systems) nanoStick T2 (290e) in an USB backside.
flash with clean/new/empty BH202 image nothing else, on an old USBstick
No restore of old settings or what so ever
scan tunerA and tunerC everything OK
FTA DVB-T channels work OK (as well as FTA DVB-S)

reboot and there after errormezz on DVB-Tuner channels
-"Service unavaible!"
-"Check tuner configuration!"
to get DVB-T back "online" again
init 4
cp /etc/tuxbox/terrestrial.xml /etc/tuxbox/terrestrial.xml202
rm /etc/tuxbox/terrestrial.xml
init 3
init 4
cp /etc/tuxbox/terrestrial.xml202 /etc/tuxbox/terrestrial.xml
init 3
FTA DVB-T channels work OK again

going nuts on this on, loads of WTF and OMG
feels like my helmet is empty now

((
Logs provided in an erlier post,
same symptom but loads of USBdevices connected then
and I have exact minutes of this trial if it is of interest
))

[solved]
Don't ask me how.
Decided to test again with clean install,
because I wanted to get rid of a unwanted plugin
wich was hard to uninstall.

So 202 clean install again, same errormezz

But now a load of plugins later,
some where during the journey it was fixed.
Still working now with revB.

@googlesearchers

Worked OK from latest post all the way to rev E
Now with 203 it reverted back.
same error again:
after powercycle or reboot GUI/E2 must be restarted to get USB tuner work OK again.

[solved] again
Well, with new driver from today (on my BH205b) it works again, thanks.
So I can now reboot and powercycle, and my stick is working directly without restart of GUI.
