VU Solo SE V2 External HDD Not Mapping

I have purchased a new VU Solo SE V2 using blackhole 2.1.7 and for the life of me I can't get the external HDD to map. I am able to map now and again, but as soon as the box reboots the external HDD is unmapped.

I have tried two 500GB external hard drives, a 1TB hard drive and numerous USB sticks, but these devices still won't map.

I have tried formatting these on the PC in FAT32, I have also tried deleting the volume off the drive and I then initialise the drives on the box but during the initialisation the box just green screens.

I have had a vu solo for years but never come across this issue before.

Has anyone come across this or got an answer please?

i just tried all online updates and still does the same
mount drive reboot unmapped again
iv also tried the open blackhole image and it works perfectly with that so im thinking it might be a driver issue but if any 1 els has any ideas please let me know as i prefer the blackhole image to the open blackhole thanks for your reply angel

menu -> setup -> BH apps -> device manager -> red botton Mountpoints -> Right Arrow to ..... -> Save + reboot

As happens to me, assigned HDD, reboot and put me back "unallocated". and I initialize the HDD when I get green screen error.

I have similar problems mounting external hard drives on both my Vu+ Solo2 and my Vu+ Zero, it's been going on for months and I've done everything suggested here on the forums to resolve it. There's obviously a substantial bug in current incarnations of Blackhole (especially OpenBlachole). Is there any chance the issues with hard drive mounting will be looked at while the next generation of Blackhole is being developed? Because as things stand, for me anyways, external hard drives are basically unusable. I really hope this issue gets resolved. I'm going to wait it out until the next version of Blackhole anyways.

Hi
I never had this problem!!

You used the wizard ?

Connect your usb storage to your Vu+ box Press Red button to continue when ready
Press Red button to continue, when you are ready and your usb is disconnected
etc
etc

Well, after installing the skin works the HDD, but restart or shut down , and it is configured . The strange thing is that the device manager does not appear, or if you do not put mounted ; But I tried it and it does record in the HDD smoothly. Thanks for the help!

Couldn't mount external HHD's either. I did e.g. put the line (at the bottom, just before "exit") "mount /dev/sdb1 /media/hdd" in the file "/etc/init.d/bootmisc.sh". HDD now is mounted - even after every restart.

I also had the same issue after having to re flash 2.1.7 fixed it by editing file mentioned by jan&fransje.

Thanks

sorry can you please be more specific on how to edit file, I'm trying to solve this problem but am pretty new to this things.

here is the end of my bootmisch file:
/bin/bh_parallel_mount
fi

/usr/sbin/crond -c /etc/bhcron/

[ -e "/usr/bin/.Bhautoswap" ] && /usr/bin/.Bhautoswap
# end

: exit 0

I have to insert this line "mount /dev/sdb1 /media/hdd". Where precisely? Also with the ""? Thanks
