What kind of filesystem do you have on your external HDD? I think it's USB....

I hope I have understood your question correctly.
I have an External HDD 500 GB connected to Solo2 by USB as Solo2 does not have Esata connection.

Ok problem solved.
Problem was caused through my own fault when I connected a 4 port switch to solo2 usb port and had connected the external HDD to that switch but which then downgraded the performance of the HDD to the extent that I could not playback HD recordings.
I could only playback SD recordings, mpg files etc but not HD recordings.
Now I've connected the HDD directly to solo2 and HD recordings playback are fine.

Glad to hear that ;)

Because, on my own setup with my Solo2 I use a CIFS HDD mounted on my network (and is a slow HDD in fact) and I can do all things I've tested at the moment (record 2 or 3 HD channels at the same time, reproduce any content, etc...) :)

Hiya, Just how can you do this? I've just got a Solo2 and dewspite looking for hours I can't see just how to record to the HDD on my PC. It's driving me crazy :)

Cheers,

Keith.

You have to setup your mountpoint in BH Blue Panel Extra settings, in Network browse and Mountpoints setup your mountpoint. When you will be able to see network CIFS mount of your PC, next in Recordings Settings you have to change the path to your PC mount.
