Vu+ Ultimo 4 Tuners?

Can the Vu+ Ultimo triple tuner box also support a forth tuner in the USB port at the same time?
2 x DVB-S + 2 x DVB-T

Will the Blackhole image support such a configuration?
Can the hardware do it?

I have read another member here has 4 tuners, but was having issues with one of the DVB-T tuners whilst recording from the other.

Thank you :)

Oh, there is going to be a One Slot Dual DVB-S2 tuner released soon?

So you could have 1 x Dual DVB-S2 and 2 x DVB-T tuners installed in the 3 slots?

supposed to be available to buy this year...if you search you can find also pictures of this in the forum:)
if you can not use a usb terrestrial tuner, you can use one dual dvb-s2 and in the other 2 slots two dvb-t or -c tuners...is very easy to unplug e plug !:D

Wow, a Dual DVB-S tuner and Dual DVB-T tuner in the new Duo 2 would be a great macchine.
Thats if they ever release a Dual DVB-T tuner :)

I hope it does...can't wait to change the DVB-T on my ultimo because the one integrated in my Samsung LCD performs better.

This is based on experience, the day my ultimo arrived,i set up the tuners and to my greatest disappointment, the dvb-t of the vu+ couldn't compete with that of my Samsung tv in picture quality.

I will agree with that also.
Tested on Sony Bravia 1080p.
HD on the Vu+ Ultimo is 90% of the Sony in picture quality, but it beats the Sony in zap speed.
SD on the Vu+ Ultimo is 70% of the Sony in picture quality, but once again, has a much faster zap speed.

Personally i see too many artefacts when using the Vu+ DVB-T, its too grainy, too sharp and is far more dependent on a true 1080p source being broadcast. Anything less (say an upscaled source) and the Vu+ looks poor compared to the Sony.
But i think that is to be expected.... The HD TV's have far more pre-stage circuitry, filters and converters.

I find it interesting that i don't noticed it as much with a true HD Sat broadcast though???

1080P on SAT transmissions doesen't exists.
On my country the Vu DVB-T tuner is good enought to beat a Samsung Full HD LCD (see in my signature) and all works properly.
I know there are some things to be fixed but it's already a good result (for me).

Ah... i stand very well corrected...
Thanks angelofsky1980

That would explain entirely why the Vu+ doesn't look as good as the Sony while watching TV... nothing ever does once it out of native res... yes i do run a few 1080p 30fps mkv's through the old girl too... they look great, but still with artefacts ;)

About artifacts, there is a driver issue.
If I have some spare time this weekend I will make some tests with Beta drivers released within the first 10th of August and I will report it.

Guyz , I will borrow a sample of the Dual Tuner from a local dealer and post on the forum the result of evaluation.

Don,are you sure what you're talking about?...Is the dual tuner out or you meant the Vu+ DVB-T tuner?
