Hi there this is my first post. I have just received my vu solo 2 box with BH image installed from wos. I'm having problems connecting my box via IP to vu control center. I have input my ip address, root, blank password, 80,21,23 then connect. The following message comes up- Access violation at adress!!!
I then carried out a network test on LAN connection where all boxes came back with a green tick. I've tried the above with various versions of control center but have had no success. Can anyone please point me in the correct direction???

Thanks in advance.

Try going into the menu, on your receiver, go into Setup, System, Network, and select which you're using, WLAN, (Wireless), or LAN, cable, and select adapter settings, then write down your receivers IP address, usually something like 192.168.1.12

Seems a problem of VUCC you are using.
Try to connect to your box via FTP client.

I've tried removing the firewall also. Still nothing. It's if the box has a password built in although I purchased it brand new from WOS.

Also how are you connected to your box? If you use homeplugs I've had an issue in the past where these lock up and stop me from connecting to my box, I had to reboot them to get them working again

first are you sure teh box has no password ? you need to check this with the supplier. secondly are you sure that 192.168.0.1 is the correct ip of your box ? , the reason i ask is that usually the last digit in the ip address (number 1 ) or 254 are the ip address of the router . i suggest (if your using blackhole) that you go to menu , setup, system ,network , and then select network test , this will test your network and tell you if your ip and everything else is ok .

I have tried a network check on my box and all is ok with green ticks in all the boxes. even the pings are returning from all devices with 0% lost so they are all talking. im going to try re flashing as a last resort and try again as i have nothing really to lose on the box just now as i have just purchased.

fingers crossed.

Hi,
The thing is the VUcc cant access on of the protocols : FTP ; TELNET ; WEB ; Or SSH
I've The same issue and I can access to the box by starting manually the 'vsftpd' deamon :
Here is the steps :
You can access the box by SSH or TELNET and type without the "1 -" :D :
1 - ps -ef |grep -i vsftpd |grep -v grep
you see if the vsftpd is started (I don't think youll find it started)
then you can start with the commande without the "2 -":
2 - /usr/sbin/vsftpd
:: If you can't find the vsftpd binary you can user 'find' like this :
find / -name "*vsftpd*" -exec ls -lrt {} \;
when you find it you lunch it like described in step "2 -"
NOTE : You'll NOT go back to the shell ( like root@vusolo# ) you'll be like stuck on the shell (don't panic it's normal)
KEEP THE PUTTY WINDOWS OPEN (or other SSH TELNET TOOL you use, I use Putty :) )
Now you can user the VUcc to access your Box with the root and your password (if set already) if not let it blank ;)

NB : USE PORT 80 For WEB ; PORT 21 for FTP ; Port 23 For TELNET in VUCC
I assume this ports were not modified previously

This is how I can Connect the box Via VUcc

Hope It works for all of you

Have a nice day
