Hello,
I've recently bought solosev2, it's connected via HDMI to AV receiver Onkyo.
I've turned off ac3, aac and dts downmix.
With this settings I tried several videos with multichannel audio:
Multichannel PCM turned OFF:
AC3(5.1 DD) - no problems Onkyo detected DD
DTS - no problems Onkyo detected DTS
AAC(6 channels) - no sound Onkyo detected DD(this is expected since Onkyo doesn't support AAC, however DD detection is wierd)
Multichannel PCM turned ON:
AC3(5.1 DD) - no problems, clearly hear that sound is multichannel, Onkyo detected Multichannel
DTS - sound is stereo! Onkyo detected Multichannel
AAC(6 channels) - sound is stereo, Onkyo detected Multichannel
I thought that when multichannel setting will be turned on it solves AAC issue, since if I understand this correctly vusolose should decode AAC to 6 PCM channels and send it via HDMI to Onkyo. Same issue is with DTS.
So it looks like that DTS and AAC are first downmixed to 2 PCM channels and then send to Onkyo.
Do you experience similar issues? If so did you figure out how to fix it?
