Why can't upgrade BH from 2.04 to 2.1.4

I can not do upgrade from 2.0.4 to BH 2.1.4 on my Vu Duo.
Previously expanded RAM to 128 MB , tried a couple of sticks, but the box after starting , just not registering a USB - stick just blinks and nothing more.
So far I have more times done BH upgrade, always successfully, but now I can not.
I ask for help and an explanation why this is happening.

They say that ZRAM is included in new image, but don't mentioned that RAM should not be inmcreased before upgrading.

RAM cannot be increased because it's an hardware component.
You can add swap and/or use ZRAM to increase memory via software side but it's another story: box have more memory. One part is RAM and other is created by software.

Thanks so much for your help.Re memory and RAM all is clear.Try differnt sticks previously fomated in FAT 32 with aproprite tool, noother sticks are connected, procedurre is followed ith max respect, but result is alwais the same- when traing to upgrade BH 2.1.4 or any BH iamge after BH 2.0.4 actaualy iinstalled, box after " Starting" instead to read USB-beguin with Vu plus 2.0.4.
As I mentined before , if try with BH 2.0.4 on stick to reflash, all is going normali, after " Starting" box is reading USB since all procedure is done.
Once thing more.Done Full Backuo of egzisting BH 2.0.4 image, but when try to relod from front USB place, behaviour of box is the same as try to upgrade BH 2.1.4 - not red the stick.
What can be the reason of such a problem.

Genuine receiver or clone you have?

Clone will only take up to 2.0.4 BH image thats why I ask

After this what you say i am not sure any more.Buy this box as second hand and beleived that is original.
Let me know please how I can check what kind is mine,

Read on clone boxes Vu Duo last image of BH was 1.7.6
In my case I passed to other images after BH 1.7.6 and now I have BH 2.0.4- does it means my box is genuine one.
Also between plug -in in menu I have Black Hole Speed Up- read somewhere clone hasn't this one ?

fairsats in his post above mentioned somethig else which conffused me .

I had a clone,came with 1.7.6 installed....pushed it to 2.0.4 ok.....v2.0.5 hung on boot.
Not intended as advice..just comment

Flashed with original image and after installed cfe_3_0_usb try to flash BH 2.1.4 but box revert to previously installed image, so I installed BH 2.0.4 without problem.
Whar can try next to solve this problem, please.

Finaly succssed to flash with BH 2.1.4 thanks to EvO instruction.
All is done exept E2 CCam 221_only_bin I used in all previous images.
Now I cannot install it for unknown reasos.Very starnge if anyone can help, please
