Black Hole Vu+ Solo 1.7.8

Bought Solo for my friend.
Just installed 1.7.8 on solo is it normal that it boots so slowly?
It takes almost minute until boot screen is displayed on tv.
My Vu duo is much faster.

Also when I plug in 64G usb slick, formatted into 3 partitions in black hole,
It's in starting gui forever and spinner is on.

Try to unplug the USB, power-off STB, then redo partitioning within BH hole.

Repartitionink in Black hole didn't help.

Partitioning done in vu didn't look good in gparted, recognised only one partition as ext.
Could not format flash in gparted as well, until I've put small (1 Meg) blank spaces between partitions, and then it worked OK.
Boots OK.

Hi quick question if i install this image and run it in avalon can i now save epg data to the flash as i assume the usb is now acting as the box flash.

Depends.
If the EPG in saved into /usr or /etc path you are right but if the EPG data comes to another folder you write directly on flash. Be careful!

I wonder if CrossEPG works as supposed in this build. When i open
Menu > Settings > CrossEPG > Info about Database, it says channels count: 0 db size: bytes (everything zero)
Creation time matches my initial setup time (or time that i first chose a different save location)
Regardless if i chose "Kingston dt101" (mounted as usbstick) "Kingston dt101 (Partition 2)", "Usb stick" -which should be same as first mentioned, "NAS" -my nas drive, or internalflash (just for testing),everything is 0. However a set of files is created with current timestamp , but all with 0 filelength. All of the above is mounted as RW.
Files created :(crossepg , crossepg.aliases , crossepg .descriptors ,crossepg .headers ,crossepg .indexes)

I often experience EPG to be empty, not even a force update of providers or forced download of epg data changes. A few days after it can be back for a couple of days..
Am i the only one with an empty DB ?

Or look when you loged to your login and password and box IP.
In past im was have problem like you im try look to one my box by pasword from other.

The PC and Vu+ are connected to same LAN o Wifi network with a router?
Have you inserted correct IP / User / Password ?
Have you tried with classic FTP client or use a browser to access OpenWebif interface?

@madridista ; Im used Total Comander and im never have problem with connected to LAN o Wifi network

I'm currently on B.H 1.7.4 What do I need to do to upgrade to 1.7.8 version? Which other Drivers do i need to install prior to my Image Update?

Can you please explain step by step how can I record from my (vu+ solo 1.7.8) black hole green panel when choosing a movie from 1channel?

I would appreciate if you can help me out!
