Hello,

I would like to switch to an Ultimo with dvbs2 and dvbc/t tuner but I don't know if the dvbc tuner can handle the analog channels.

According to the specifications it can but I prefer if someone can confirm.

The specs :

Hybrid - DVB-C/T-Tuner:

  • TV and radio programmes with antenna and digital cable
  • VHF-Channel: 2-12 (49...230 MHz) <------ analog stuff here
  • UHF-Channel: 21-69 (470...861 MHz)
  • DVB-C HDTV compatible
  • Input frequency: 51...858 MHz
  • Symbol rate: 1 ... 7 Mbaud/s
  • Input impedanz: 75 Ohm
  • Tuner In/Out connector: IEC
  • DVB-C / DVB-T switchable by software
This would be the ultimate box for me if it works ;)

I don't know how works DVB-C but this is a digital standard and I suspect that frequencies between 49 an 190Mhz will be converted (or they are already converted) to be only digital.

Well,

I know for a fact that vhf/uhf is analog. I have a few free channels from my cable provider.

In my LG tv (32la620s) I have analog and digital tuner. In the setup there is antenna/cable/satellite.

As you can read in the specs of this tuner in green the purely digital part of this tuner and in red the analog part.

Any feedback would be great.

I'm pretty sure that the hybrid tuner DVB-T/C it's only digital.
In my country there isn't DVB-C but only DVB-T and I haven't sufficient experience to determine what channels (frequencies) are used by cable providers, I'm sorry for that :(
