Network problem

Hello!
I have some problems with my network connection on my Vu+ duo with BH 1.6.6

Sometime the network just stops working. I can not access web interface, can't access via Samba, my Transmission deamon is not working etc... Everything else is still working, just the network connection is lost.

When I restart the box, everything is working ok again.

It's with DHCP. But I have the router set to always give the same ip-adress. I never had this problem with my dm800.

Go to network configuration and set DHCP "no", after You do it, You will get under few step for static configuration like LAN IP,mask,gataway,after that DNS servers.

I stil have this problem. Sometimes the network just dies. I can not access the box via the network, nothing that requires network connection works. I cant juse mytube player, cant download addons etc. The only way to fix it is to restart the box (not just the gui)

Hi Hakima, did you solve the problem? It seems that I have a similar issue with my Vu+ UNO and BH 1.7.0: sometimes the telnet session crashes and I have to wait a couple of minutes before opening a new one. Same issue when I use the Vu+ web server. I have a static IP.

It seems that I fixed it modifying the IP address: I don't know why but when I put a lower IP address (192.168.1.10 instead of 192.168.1.112 for example) it works fine...

Take fix IP address for your BOX outside the DHCP range in your router.

example:
Your router has a starting IP adress in DHCP 192.168.1.10
and maximum DHCP users 100

example :
If you use for your BOX FIX IP 192.168.1.150

probably will all work without problems .

Hi Matrix10 I just figured out what the problem was: I didn't remember that I have another device with the same IP address in my network!! It was just an IP address conflict issue then... :oops:
I suppose your advice is still valid though, thanks!

Of course,
But this can only happen when you use DHCP range and automatic IP adress.

Dear all,
My Vu+Duo works fine under BH 1.7.2. My wireless network, via USB wifi, is fine but as I have a poor signal quality I decide to switch to wired network. My connexion cable works correctly on my laptop but when I configure my Vu+Duo to use LAN interface the test doesn't pass the DNS even if I enter its IP address manually.
I will be thankful for your kind help

I also have network problems. Network suddenly stopped working. Im getting greeen screen saying there is a software problem and box will restart in 10 secs. I restarted router and rebooted vuplus duo but stil no go.Went into network settings and used both dhcp and interface several times to try to solve problems. Every time i reconfigure the settings i get a crash and same message. Ive made sure settings are ok and even tried different ip settings but to no avail. Im stumped here

went to bed last nite and turned off stb. when turned on this am it is stalled in booting......wont boot up so i cannot access crashlog to put here. Think ive gotta hdd failure...hdd crash came yesterday when i tried to implement the network settings i had changed....................log said it failed.......
