How to install the tar.gz files? The .tgz I know, but this ...

tgz or tar.gz are the same.
you can use tar -xvf to extract files

You can copy Manual files to /lib/modules/2.6.18-7.3/extra/
Restart box

I remember all members who upgrade manually drivers can cause stop working of images (in general)!
Please make very care when you decide to manually upgrade that part of images!
Some drivers includes features who "conflicts" with other parts of images.

Make ALWAYS a mackup of /lib/modules/<kernel_version>/extra folder to recover immediately your box without flash it again.

For BH images tests are already started.

Why the rush, BH latest image is very stable and smooth.....

My recommendation, to wait tell BH Team complete the images tests,,,,,

And tell users when to install the update!
